Default Whoa new feature - PS3 +- volume for audio

I didn't realize this, was playing some MP3's on an SD card and discovered the +- volume feature.. well I cranked it up from the PS3 +2 , my new Pioneer Elite 92 seemed to have gotten another 50 watts a channel.. .

This hunk of plastic is truly magical.

I think that this was there before.

Just be careful because when i've cranked this up it has actually distorted the sound on some songs. Took me forever to find it out.

Have a look here http://community.eu.playstation.com/....id=7084#M7084

Thats cool, just be careful. If you start hearing clipping on your speakers or any distortion at all try turning the option to normal and see if is still there. Don't want you damaging your speakers mate.

It is recommended to leave at NORMAL setting. If you need more volume then crank up your receiver volume.

If you want to improve the sound of your MP3/CDs - I suggest changing the "type" setting under the music settings. I have mine set to "Type 3" - I like the sound much better.

(I find the volume control is not too helpful due to distortion at higher levels.)

I saw that feature on my PS3 on Launch Day. I keep it on normal just to be safe though.

If you have a high quality amp and speakers +1 or +2 should play fine without causing distortation from the speakers... I leave mine at +1...

I have mine already set to type 3, with no distortion to speak of.. I don't think I have it loud enough to hear any distortion as of yet. (Pioneer 92 volume -25 PS3 +2) / I'll play around with it.. just suprised about this feature as I never knew it existed.
