I suggest you read the comic book and play the Genesis/Mega Drive video game (SNES one has better graphics but is censored) before you start making troll threads which would essentially belong in a wishlist section.

RoboCop is programmed to serve and protect while Terminator is programmed to seek and destroy!

Going back to the original post, I don't think Robocop should be considered "tech-noir."

The Terminator must be a big Metallica fan.

I enjoyed the comic and the video game back in the day, I'd be all for it.

I have to disagree. RoboCop is a tech-noir, much more than The Terminator.

Really? I thought Terminator was the perfect tech-noir.

Terminator is agile, Robocop is too slow unless it's the 2014 version, which has a chance against the Terminator just like any human, like John Conner or Sarah. The old original Robocop would need to be very clever to stand a chance.

Speaking of Robocop, I see above the forum, the UHD version was at 49.99 for an old movie, but has dropped drastically all of a sudden to 27.99 for those interested. I couldn't believe they were charging the rip off price of 49.99 for a movie in UHD format.

The BIGGEST misconception about Terminator is that they call him a cyborg. That is INNCORRECT. RoboCop is a cyborg, Terminator is more of an android. Cameron screwed up.

Also yeah, pre-ordered my copy of RoboCop in 4K. It was expensive at first, but it's worth it either way.

I don't consider RoboCop tech-noir. The humor, the satire, and the OTT action disqualify it as noir. The Terminator fits that perfectly, as does the Cameron-written and -produced Strange Days. But not every movie involving technology run amok is tech-noir. The perils of tech is a story, a theme; noir is a style.

I didn't know Cameron called the Terminator a Cyborg. Probably because of the human tissue on the exterior, which is said to be living tissue.

They really shouldn't charge over $27.99 for UHD and more people would buy it on release day. 27.99 is reasonable, but for diehard fans, I understand why they would want the UHD quickly and pay more.

I'd rather have The Terminator vs ED-209.

Highly recommend playing MK11 for this reason alone. So great to shoot Terminator in the dick.

I mean, he's the one that wrote these movies (mostly the first two). I know the Terminator has "human tissue", but that still doesn't qualify it being a cyborg.

I just remembered reading somewhere a rather succinct summary: RoboCop is a man in a robot suit and Terminator is a robot in a man suit.
