Default Did I Damage my BDP-S300?

I just tried placing a DVD-R into my S300, but I did not notice I did not seat the disc properly before I pressed the button the close the drive. The rear part of the disc (the part closest to me) was sitting on the edge of the tray recess. As the tray closed, the disc was jammed between the tray and the top of the opening of the drive. It tried to close for a couple of seconds and then reversed and reopened. I chucked the stupid DVD-R in the garbage and closed the tray and turned the player off. I am now afraid I may have damaged the tray or the motors or something.

Im not saying I tried the DVD-R and it didnt work. I chucked it immediatly cause I was pissed off and I turned it off without trying something else. I am sure if I tried a disc it would work. But I am concerned I may have damaged something that wont break immediatly, but later with more use as I may have misaligned something or done damage to the motor/drivetrain that retracts it or something.

as we said try another disc and see.

You wont know until you put another disc onto the tray. Asking other people if any damage was done doesn't answer your question. You have to find out for yourself.

You should have chucked the player and kept the DVD-R. Just kidding. I'd bet your player is fine. Don't be scared - just try playing a Blu-ray movie and see.
