Default Mummy Returns

I was in my local blockbuster, went straight to the bluray section and lo and behold there was The Mummy Returns. I wasn't sure if they had the other two mummy movies. But I rented the one there and man this movie is really good. The audio if awesome, right up there with Live Free or Die Hard. This one literally had my lil apartment shaking. And a week and a half before realease date, pretty kool.

I loved the first 2 movies and with all the good reviews on this I might just replace my DvD's with BLU.

Yeah I definately think they are worth replacing. Like I said this just has me more hype for when The Incredible Hulk comes out, DTS-MA, that is gonna be awesome. as well as King Kong. WOW!!!!

Isn't the video exactly the same as the HD-DVD?

Am hearing conflicting reports on this. HDD said it was and I think the Blu-Ray.com reviewers say it is a better video encode? I could be wrong.

I'm not sure if it is the same video encode - Universal said they would be re-encoding many of their movies for Blu-ray. Either way, they did an excellent job with it.

I see if you pre order the mummy and mummy returns on amazon.com
you get them for 39.90

Seems like a good deal. Unless there selling in the stores like batman begins did for 19.99

Anyone know? or will they be 24.99 like the others

And if you pre order them now do you get them on the 22nd or a couple days later?

I'm pretty sure I read that Universal ramped up the bit rate on the Mummy movies, so that would make them different encodes, doesn't it?
