3D editions have debuted just about everywhere with the exception of the US and Canada. Enough time has passed that I think it's safe to conclude one isn't planned for this market. Looks like the Brazilian edition would be a go here, being region A, but I wouldn't know where to order...and probably wouldn't until I heard something about the transfer, available languages and whether playback was assured.

Otherwise: What's the region code reporting on the various other versions? Anything turn out to be region A compatible?

The 3d version of Beowulf is on Netflix and I found it quite stunning.

Thanks. Anything to recommend the German over the other region B releases, assuming they're A compatible as well? Have you tried the disc in other, A-locked players? ...Just looking to remove as much uncertainty from the situation as I can before I buy...

How's the image quality (2D and 3D)? Is the English language track serviceable?

I appreciate the input.

I have three 3D players: Samsung, Sony, and LG. It plays on all of them. As I do not have the other foreign discs, I can't offer a comparison. The image and sound 2d and 3D are very fine. I chose the German disc because it is easy to order from Amazon Germany.

Sounds very promising.

Forgot to ask: It wasn't mentioned in the product listing, but is the extended cut also featured?

Any clue what "NF" denotes in the listing for the English 5.1 track? Could that mean "near field"?

Any forced subtitles? I think that's the last of it! Thanks again for your help...

Looks like I'll go ahead and order....or have a friend do it for me. For some reason, the European Amazon sites don't make it easy with no Paypal support, no Discover cards accepted, etc.

I have the French version. It also plays in Region A and comes with 2D & 3D discs.

Ideally, I'd go for the French as there's another title I'm looking at most readily available from there.

Anyone know of an alternate way of doing business with the European Amazons? I was a little taken aback to see they don't honor Paypal, Discover...or even US Amazon gift cards at the currency conversion rate...

While the 3D disc only features the theatrical, the extra dimension is worth it...especially since the differences between the two versions are minimal to begin with.
