Default Two Remakes of "Children of the Corn" on the Way?

From Bloody-Disgusting.com

Quote:
- "We broke the news back in June that Producer Donald P. Borchers would be writing and directing his own remake of Children of the Corn for the Sci-Fi Channel and Anchor Bay Entertainment, only that's just the beginning. We learned today that Dimension Films still owns the rights to the Stephen King story and has every intention of adapting it once again for the big screen! No word yet on who will tackle the project, but this could be cool if they do it right. More news as it comes in."

So, one Sci-Fi Channel telefilm and one actual big-screen redux potentially on the way?

... The remake frenzy continues.

OH CHRIST! Enough of these remakes Hollywood! Oy this unoriginal path Hollywood's going is getting redundant.

And so do the custody battles.

(And Sci-Fi delusions of grandeur aside, Anchor Bay is no stranger to confusing ownership of New World Pictures with somehow magically owning rights to the source material--
Just ask anime fans about the last time Anchor Bay got caught with their greedy hands in the New World cookie jar....)

I believe that the original Children of the Corn is getting a blu-ray release around Halloween. I would be in a favor of a good remake, but with horror it is probably best to live the series alone.

Perhaps, but in all honesty, how many remakes since the dawn of this century have actually been worthwhile or better?
