Question Is Amazon.com on the side of HD-DVD

Looking at there new promotion it certainly looks that way.

Amazon is in the business of making money so I doubt they have any type of preference. I bet they are just passing on the deal given to them by the HD-DVD Manufacturers.

Toshiba funds that promotion. Just like Sony is funding the B2G1F promotion going on at Amazon right now.

I figured as much. Do you think Toshiba is loosing money in order to gain ground on player sales?

No, this is all a Toshiba promotion. Funny thing is, I'd only want two of the 15 "free" discs that you can choose 7 from. And one of those I'd only take because it it "free". Toshita is showing its desperation.

As long as Blu-Ray discs are available on Amazon, it won't really matter. People can choose how to spend their money, and with reason, they would likely choose Blu-Ray.

Agree. Remember Amazon had a 50% Blu-ray Sale a couple of months ago and HD-DVD weren't.

Amazon is also offering a buy 2 get 1 free for Sony BD titles. Amazon is hardly playing favorites.

Last monday the sale was better... I almost bought into it....
The HD-A2 was 234.99
The Complete Matrix Trilogy was 63.99
I would have picked...
Batman Begins
The Good Shepherd
Seabiscuit
Constantine
Four Brothers
The Rundown
The Perfect Storm
So 10 movies and HD DVD player for $298.98 now that is cheap!!

if blu-ray keeps their current releases for the upcoming month or so....I'd expect another sale by amazon.com as these titles probably won't sell like they've been accustomed to with at least one "hot" week a month...

if sales slack a little...or attractive titles for that matter, I hope we'll see another sale like the 33%-50% off all BD's
