Depends on if they could get their hands on some more Bob Hope movies besides the abundantly available PD ones.

I was excited a couple of years ago when Sony and Mill Creek partnered up (I figured we would see lots of releases like this at good prices). But there were practically no fruits from that deal that I was interested in - the closest interest I had were a few of the oddly paired double features. Now we randomly get this amazing title, but of course it's already been released just one year ago.

Hopefully Mill Creek doesn't screw this up, considering the existing blu-ray. Either way I hope the TCM one isn't out of print, that way at least we have it as a higher priced backup option.

Subtitles are a frill and Mill Creek is a no frills company.

Wow! This and The Wild One! Hopefully they have good transfers and maybe we'll keep getting some classic Columbia/SONY titles.

Has any Mill Creek release ever had subtitles? I don't use them, but it really sucks for people who do. I can obviously understand none on their public domain 50 packs, but on releases like this it seems like a pretty basic thing.

Also, maybe someone can tell me: why do they never port the special features from the Sony versions? Do they not have the rights? Because surely even on a BD25 they could stick some old SD special features or maybe a commentary or something. (Actually I think they have had the odd DVD with some special features: maybe their TV series?)

This is really interesting to me. I was kind of hoping TCM would continue with their line of releases.

Maybe Mill Creek will wind up releasing The Magnificent Ambersons, too!

Some of their discs have subs - New York Stories, Hollywood Homicide, Hudson Hawk. They dropped the ball on Krull. Problem, is, subs shouldn't be an extra, they should be a necessity.

Sad thing is, just about every movie has downloadable subs available for free online (albeit ripped from somewhere), so it's not even about a studio having to type and synch everything in.

I just end up adding them and burning my own copy.

I'm happy with my copy of the original TCM release.

Now if the Mill Creek disc is the 2nd TCM transfer and I see it for $5...

According to this, they are using the same 4k restoration as TCM.

Preordered since I don't have the TCM one.

BTW, Mill Creek's Gamera BDs have subs.

I was able to buy the TCM one off ebay for $20 shipped. Procrastinated on getting it and figured I'd regret not picking it up since this MC release is likely barebones and I'd want the extras. I

What extras are on the TCM BD?

And why would this be bare bones when it is going to be teh same disc?

Thanks. Honestly, as cool as those would be, they aren't worth me worrying about the TCM disc if they aren't on the MC one.

The commentary is worth it if you're into those
