Default Warner HD survey

If you want to voice your concerns over such topics as crippling Blu ray releases with low bit rate hd dvd ports and/or no HD audio ect...here is a Warner survey that has a comments section for you to voice your opinion.
Please be nice about it.

My comment at the end

PLEASE its a request from a 16yo boy who loves BD bring all the movies that are out on HD-DVD on BD as soon as you can and your PQ and SQ should be good as compared to the other stuff i've seen from Warner Bros.
Thank You

I hope one of the major directors in the company reads this comment i don't even care if one of the warner bros read my comment LOL that will piss them off

done...here are my comments:

I am a Blu-Ray owner - to this day I have been completely underwhelmed by the quality of product Warner Brothers have been releasing on Blu Ray. Blood Diamond is the latest example. This title was one that I was going to purchase as I missed it at the theaters. However, I found out that this is another example of a bad encode for Blu Ray and will not be purchasing this title now. The dollars that were meant to go to Warner Brothers will now go to a studio that is supporting Blu Ray properly (Sony, Disney , etc). By supporting Blu Ray properly I mean that I expect the video to be a high bit rate encode with a lossless PCM soundtrack. Not a video encode meant for HD DVD ported over to Blu Ray. This is unacceptable and I will no longer be purchasing Warner Brother titles until this is addressed.

On a slightly different note, Warner Brother has mentioned that they are delaying certain titles due to the IME not being available on Blu Ray - as a video enthusiast, I am not interested in "extras", I am interested in the main event - the movie.

I filled that out yesterday. Dont remember exactly what my comments were, but I did mention how absurd it was that they werent focusing more on Bluray, and I mentioned that their TrueHD Combo format was laughable.

I pretty much begged them to forget about IME and I assured them that we do not care about IME...and that they can double-dip if they want to...they can feel free..

but they won't just take my word for it...

I really hope you didn't say 'TrueHD'? 'TrueHD' is the lossless audio format - we like that! I think you mean to say TotalHD.

My comments:

Please optimize video for Blu-ray discs, and not just simply port over encodes used on HD DVDs. Issues such as banding and visible macroblocking should not exist at all and are completely unacceptable when you have a major chunk of a dual-layer 50GB Blu-ray disc going unused. Also, more parity between the two formats as far as special features and audio formats offered. Thanks.

Please support Blu-ray properly. I'm an early adopter and picked Blu-ray because of the better tech. specs. Preparing releases that conform to the inferior HD DVD spec, running them through a converter, dumping it on a half-empty BD50 with lossy compressed DVD audio does not inspire me to purchase your product. You have a great library but I will not purchase inferior product.
Here's mine.

LOL, I think I said the right one? I dont remember anymore! maybe i goofed?!?!

But I did specify that I was talking about their dualformat discs, so I think they'll understand what I meant.

In fact now that I think about it, I may have left the 'true' part out all together, so that it sounded like i didnt careabout the name, just to make it sound like i was even LESS interested in the idea

Cool

I simply said as an avid movie collector I spend my hard earned cash on only the top quality blu-ray titles, and currently only 2 are Warner. Please take the time to utilize blu-ray's superior specs to its utmost potential for your future titles. If you can accomplish this, I guarantee your titles wouldn't stay on store shelves very long.

Done.

Said they should optimize for Blu-ray as opposed to encoding for the lowest common denominator, be fair about releases and the release dates and that I'd never buy a single Total HD disc.

I mentioned the bit rates BVHE is using for their VC-1 encodes on The Queen, Deja Vu and Flightplan (28-35 Mbps) and how I really hope Warner will start encoding for Blu-ray seperately from HD DVD to take more advantage of the higher bandwidth capacity.
