Good day to all, I must admit that i am a big laserdisc fan, the sound of the players, handling of discs and the packaging. this year i should complete my collection and LD Player Pioneer HLD X9. Am currently paying for a lexicon MC12B which is in the shop & i am paying for this each pay day, as i will not have finance, i enjoy being patient. (this should be finished by jan-07.)
Looking forward to blu-ray and if there is not a dominant format in the near future then it looks like i shall be buying into both formats. I genuinely do prefer blu-ray, Pioneer Elite who usually do things thoroughly and have a good history, looks like a safe purchase. Toshiba HD DVD player looks like another purchase. then i can compare both.

My circumstances are different to a lot of other people on this forum, as i have no ties or worries, but i have had to compromise on a lot of other things for my hobby. I have given myself a time frame and currently working towards this. ( the things we do for are hobbies guys eh! boys with there toys) thanks for all of your info, lets all hope Blu-Ray wins' no compromises.
Kind regards Mark B-E

Thumbs up laserdisc

blu-Ray.com

Yes" i know it's sad, but laserdisc if you do not know, is 12inch disc that plays
films double the quality of vhs and uncompressed dolby digital and full bit dts sound both sound better than DVD, although some DTS ES dvds the haunting sounds better. Also the latest DVD box set of Star Wars 1,2,3, are very high bit and sound nearly matches. Do you know the format ?

In japan the laserdisc format kept being produced until late 2001 and the hardware to 2002. I am still buying titles from Japan, and hardware.

Regards

Mark
