AFAIK the Director's Cut was only ever released on DVD.

Commando Director's Cut is coming out on Blu ray as a steelbook in Japan in April 2015
Also a Commando Directors Cut Steelbook Buy ray in Germany/Czech Republic in May 2015

Most likely will also be in the UK and other countries as well
Considering the BBFC have just passed a Commando directors cut you can expect a UK Commando Directors Cut Blu ray Steelbook release to happen

This is great, I would love a digibook edition but if there is going to be a UK steelbook I will go for it. A commentary track with Arnie will be amazing!

Just checked up the German edition quoted above and it dates back to 2010. Has the theatrical version on BD but the directors cut is on DVD and so only in SD.

The forthcoming Japanese and Czech steelbooks have the directors cut on BD so in HD.
It seems that Fox in Europe release these back catalogue reissues in Czech Republic first as they got Kingdom of Heaven same time as US in a steelbook, but the UK steelbook is around 6 months later and still a pre-order.

However it does look like we will be getting the directors cut on BD in the near future as the UK I believe never got it on DVD unlike many other countries.

One the one hand there is very, very little worth watching in the directors cut version over the theatrical.

On the other hand, well its Commando so...

Both compelling arguments I think you will all agree.

I already have the old Zavvi steelbook so will see what happens with this one before I commit.

+1. There isnt much in the DC to make it a must buy over the TC. But a better transfer would be one thing. And even if they just port the extras from the US DVD DC it will be worth it. The Zavvi steelbook is really nice but Id be tempted by a new steelbook too - its Commando! Especially if Bennett is on the back cover

The best thing about the extras? Arnie actually admitting that he was scared of Vernon Wells on set! Just too funny!

Any chance they could do something about the explosions? On the Australian release, the guns sounded excellent but when something blew up, there was nothing to it.

Commando Directors Cut will be remastered in 2K

Just got this info back from Light House Cinema.

Light House Cinema in Ireland will do a limited screening.
