First Blu-ray Casino Royale

So I sprung for my first blu ray and Im noticing the picture clartiy is better, but the picture dosent flow as smooth.

It seems kinda choppy or robotic if that makes sense. Im playing it on a PS3 if that matters.

I watch this movie on DVD all the time so I picked up on the difference right away. Please dont flame, just help me out.

Odd. Casino Royale is one of my favorites, and on my set up, the action flows very nicely. It's one of the discs I use to show people the difference with Blu.

What type of TV and are you using HDMI?

Yep watching credits now, its different than a DVD for sure.

Phillips 47" 1080p with HDMI

I cant tell what it is, but the picture seems to go slower?

try turning 1080p/24HZ to OFF (under BD/DVD settings in the PS3)

If what Crackin suggests fixes it, I'd recommend looking for a firmware upgrade for your set. I have a 42" Philips that did the same thing until I updated the firmware. It's not a 24p capable set anyway, but there is a fix for the issue through Philips.

If your set is from the same line as mine, updating via USB could not be easier.

Ok did what crakin advised and it fixed the problem. It looks awesome now!

What is this firmware you speak of and how do I update my TV? Or is it for the PS3?

Its a Phillips 47PFL7422D/37

They are speaking of updating the firmware on your tv. Check Phillips' website to see what the latest firmware is for your specific television. It is possible your tv doesn't have the latest firmware installed.

this movie looks so beautiful on blu ray that right at the end when bond shoots mr. white and he's crawling on the stairs, you can see an ant on the stairs..lol.. i dont remember seeing this on the dvd version. or maybe it was there and im that blind.. overall, great movie
