With Season 6a-b on Blu-ray, I was going to hold off on purchasing them. But have there been a news or will there be a chance where the whole series will be released in Blu-ray format?

No one knows for sure. Warner IS releasing the entire series boxset this Fall on DVD. However, with everyone scrambling to put stuff out on Blu-ray, it might be hard to get 6 1/2 seasons worth of TV out all at once.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but isn't the complete Sopranos series on DVD like $300??

If so, that'd put the entire series on Blu at $450 - $500?

I can't imagine HBO pulling the trigger on such a massive set until Blu has a greater customer base willing to pull the trigger on a set that expensive. Individual seasons, yes. Entire series, no.

If it was all filmed in 35mm we should get it sometime, they may not
want to release this fall though with The Godfather box coming out, out
of respect and the fact that both are pricey and geared toward the same
audience..

Probably not for awhile. Sales of both parts of Season 6 weren't exactly spectacular -- see below.

It would be more than that (at least at MSRP). Each HALF of Season 6 on BD retails for $130. So, $260 MSRP for season 6. If each other season was released at $130 (not half season this time), you'd be looking at $910 MSRP for the entire series. Is it really any wonder why the sets released so far haven't sold more?

roger that bud, i just finshed rewatching seasons 1-5 as i have s6 p1 and p2 coming on blu, but a movie is needed and no doubt it will happen 1 day, gandolfini is amazing.
