I think this article is blowing things way out of proportion and is VERY one sided.....

Take the Yahoo thing, for one Sure Yahoo "blocked" the 1st buyout, then Icahn came in and wanted the deal to go through. He actually succeeded at getting on the board (even though the total rout of the board didnt happen). I still see Yahoo getting "dumped" in the future.

Microsoft fell off in the search department while they focused on Windows, they know this, and rather then build from ground up, why not just take over someone and revamp what they have? IMO it makes more sense for them to buy an old company and revamp it rather then start from the ground up again.

As far as businesses not moving over to Vista, well I work for a fairly large company, and can say that many of the clients we have are till running a Server 2000\2003. Not sure if clients are willing to take the risk to upgrade everything they have to make the jump to Vista (Corporate integration is always behind consumer IMO).

People will always hate the big guy out there, and right now Microsoft looks scared because they are doing things on a larger scale (buying companies instead of people). Go Figure, Im sure we could bring up stuff like this for most of the big companies, even the beloved Apple....
