De Niro to join Mel Gibson on 'Edge of Darkness' - Blu-ray Forum

I know there's plenty of people who dislike Gibson (I'm not one of them), but pairing him with De Niro is very interesting.

Robert De Niro is near a deal to join Mel Gibson in "Edge of Darkness," the Martin Campbell-directed feature for Graham King's GK Films. Shooting begins this month in Massachusetts.

Gibson stars as Thomas Craven, a straitlaced homicide detective for the Boston Police Dept. and single father, whose 24-year old daughter is murdered on the steps of his home. The cop assumes he was the target, but his investigation leads in another direction and uncovers his daughter's secret life, a corporate cover-up and government collusion.

De Niro will play an operative sent to clean up the evidence.

Pic marks the first film that Gibson has toplined since "Signs" and "We Were Soldiers" in 2002.

sounds like this movie could be good, glad to hear mel coming back to the acting game, like him or not the man has put in some memorable roles over the years.

Yeah, I know Mel gets a lot of hate, but I think he's a great actor/director. Will be looking forward to his return on screen.

Really looking foward to ANY new theatrical release starring Mel Gibson. Hopefully De Niro will bring his "A" game.

I wondering the the other day whatever happen to Mel Gibson after all that fiasco in his personal life seen that he just vanish, good the here that he is coming back in front of the cameras.
