Beetlejuice Release Date Pushed Back? - Blu-ray Forum

Going by what Amazon is telling me, looks like Beetlejuice has been pushed back to October 7 as the release date instead of September - 16.

Gotta agree with you there. September has enough releases. Plus this movie is better to release around Halloween.

I'm not ready to go that far. I like having to actually pick movies and plan my purchases instead of being able to get everything I want each week.

i love this movie and i want it on blu-ray asap but i also am kind of glad it got pushed back because i have quite a number of releases i want to get between August and September of video games and dvds

Wow did u see the specs on this one. I have to say my level of excitement for this release has dropped dramatically. I think Beetlejuice is one of Burton's best, but never bought this on DVD so I was really excited about the Blu. After seeing its only BD 25 and has virtually no special features, I am going to have to pass on this one. I can understand Warner skimping on titles that haven't made them alot of money, but this is a classic and deserves better treatment. Hopefully WB pulls their heads out of their collective butt holes and starts giving us better releases, espcially for a 20th Anniversary Edition, this is just sad.

That day is rough... my list includes Sleeping Beauty (BLU), Smurfs Volume 2, Picture of Dorian Gray, Watership Down, 30 Rock season 2, Criterions releases of Le Doulos, and Le Deuxieme Souffle, and now the BLU of BeetleJuice!

Oh well the more the merrier I guess. (yes my shopping list includes stand. def. dvds.)

Oh I agree... I would guess maybe Burton didn't want to deal with the bonus features... which is odd cause WB and him do bonus features decently on past dvd releases... but WB dropped the ball on this and the supposed POLTERGEIST release... I don't even think we get the trailer!

I will still buy both of these I would assume POLTERGEIST will have TRUEDolby as BeetleJuice does. and I love the old BeetleJuice cartoons... wish they would just release those as stand. def season sets

I am happy they at least included a TrueHD track and that it will drop before Halloween. One of my favorites.

I'll be all over Beetlejuice. It was on Universal HD last night... Just knowing it'll look even better than that on Blu-ray makes me more excited.

So your unhappy because it's only on a BD 25? So if it only used 20gig for everything but they put it on a BD 50, you would buy it? Please explain this stupid comment to me.

If a movie does not require a BD 50 and will fit perfectly on a BD 25, what's the problem?

Don't buy it. Lol. Nobody here cares if you don't. I will buy it. I love the movie and I am sure it will look FANTASTIC!

this feature wouldn't even take 20gig at 26mbits AVG (and it's more than normal Disney/Sony) it,s 90min. I'am gonna take the movie + audio, don't really care about special features...

I mean it can't look worse than the dvd,, can it... or can it??? LOL
