Sweden Krzysztof Kieslowski's THREE COLORS TRILOGY

In what is likely to be the event of the year for me Swedish distributor Noble Entertainment are set to release Krzysztof Kieslowski's beloved Three Colors Trilogy as a 3BD set this October. Since MK2 have not announced any plans, neither have Miramax, this is an outstanding news. English subtitles more than likely will not be included.

Hope these get a (most excellent) US release pretty soon too. [Took ages for them to finally make it onto DVD.]

Some very good news indeed. Might have to make it an import, based upon the sparse foreign releases in the US.

I hope the US release comes really soon, since these movies should be amazing in Hi-def! Would also love to see The Double Life of Veronique. I'm guessing Criterion still owns the rights to that. Can't complain about the treatment it got on DVD though, so I'm much more excited about a Three Colors upgrade.

It only has subtitles for Scandinavian languages. I don't get how they got the rights or incentive before Either Mk2 or Miramax.

By the way, does anyone know an online swedish blu-ray retailer that ships internationally? Discshop.se does not.

english.megastore.se ships to the US as well. Don't know if they have it up, but they carry quite a few blus. Hope that helps.

This is mostly off-topic...but for those in the general Mid-Atlantic States area, Juliette Binoche will be giving a Q&A and signing (her art book?) after a screening of Blue at the BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) Cinématek in Brooklyn, New York on September 21st, 2009. It's part of a retrospective on her work in conjunction with the performance of her new dance work, in-i.

Didn't know where else to put it that it would be noticed.

That's pretty sweet. I was too young to catch the trilogy when it came out, and always want to see them in theaters. Only if Blanc and Rouge were playing too, or since its a Binoche event, her two movies with Haneke. Luckily Bleu is my favourite.

Do you have a link to information regarding this whole thing?

Is it region-free?

I don't mind if it doesn't include english subs. My french is actually a bit better than my english
In the other hand, the polish dialogues in "Blanc" would represent a huge problem

BAMcinématek Rendez-vous with Juliette Binoche

The Haneke films are being shown, but White and Red are not.

Rouge is in Swiss French as well; not sure if it matters. Kieslowski's movies have enough of a following that this will be released in France, UK, and US in Blu-ray eventually.

Fingers crossed this gets a UK release before too long. A monumental achievement, with Red perhaps being the most magnificent swansong in cinema. A real shame Kieslowski is no longer with us.

...This is the greatest thing that has happened to me for the past two years. Thank you so much. Binoche is by far my favourite actress, and Haneke and Kieslowski are my favourite directors. This is amazing.

Are you going to attend?

HELL YES!

Sorry, I have a big crush on her.

EDIT: And only for Blue, because I don't live close to Brooklyn.

But...ahem...back on topic...

Whatever happened to this? DID it come out or was it just the DVD set?
