Exclamation What in your opinion would you class as a reference audio bluray?

This is just out of curiosity really, ID like to know your references that you think is a top movie soundtrack that couldnt be any more perfect? IMO id say the best DTS-MATER AUDIO ive heard to date is FLYBOYS, for DOLBY TRUE HD id say SPIDERMAN 3 & for uncompressed PCM id have to say GHOSTRIDER. Does anybody agree with me here or do you have much better references?

I think stealth was the best PCM track I have heard yet and Enchanted was probably the best TrueHD track for me. As a film, neither one of those movies was great, but the soundtracks were incredible. Not sure about my fav DTS-MA track yet, I feel like they are consistently well done.

Master and Commander: Far Side of the World

/thread

No seriously. Rent it, buy it - whatever. I won't preach on its video/film quality (it's my favorite film of all time) - but prepare to be shocked by the masterful powers of its DTS-HD MA soundtrack.

Master and Commander had amazing sound effects. But sometimes (at least as I remember it, I haven't seen the movie on Blu-Ray yet as I am waiting for my TV to get fixed) the dialogue would get lost in the sound effects.

Dolby TrueHD - Cloverfield
DTS-HD MA - Man on Fire (most realistic gun shots ever)
PCM - Pearl Harbor

WORST SOUND:
Mr. Brooks. There shouldn't be 40-50db jumps in sound for any movie.

Dolby TrueHD: Cloverfield
PCM:Spider-man 3? I have so many disks with PCM.
DTSHDMA: The Mummy Returns

I have to agree on Master and Commander. While I thought Cloverfield was great sounding, as far as showcasing sound I found it a touch bass heavy. Master and Commander was good as you have the deep bass but also the high treble as well. Spiderman 3 certainly was good and so was the last two Pirates of the Carribean movies.

Although not from a movie, the best audio I've heard on a Blu-ray disk is the Chris Botti's concert... simply amazing crisp tones from the highs to the lows.

3 way tie for me at the moment between, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds Live at Radio City, Mr and Mrs Smith, and Cloverfield.

The Orphanage--definitely the scariest 7.1 DTS-MA sound..

Don't watch it alone late at night...hahaha
