It plays more like a pilot for a Justice League-style series on Cartoon Network -- even produced/directed by Butch Lukic, one of the key talents behind JL -- although I love that show and obviously don't mean that in a bad way. It doesn't feel like a movie, but there's some pretty terrific action (although the animation budget can't always keep up), a lot of playful characterization, and it's not anywhere near as grim/dark/serious/bloody/brutal as the past few movies have been. It's kid-friendly but doesn't pander to a younger audience either. The nefarious scheme is kind of Saturday Morning and doesn't hold up if you think about it too much, and the robot animals feel like a shoehorned toy tie-in, but neither of those get in the way too much.

I had a good time...enough that I'll pick up the next one for sure. As long as you go in with the right expectations, I bet you'll like it too.

Silverback -- a newer and relatively unused villain from Blue Beetle's rogues gallery.

I really dug the cast. There are a lot of familiar names, although some of them have voiced more Marvel than DC, and the DC carryovers are frequently voicing different characters than usual. No celebrity voices -- all seasoned voice actors.

Not sure about physical stores, but Amazon and BB have listings up for them. Ironically more money than the figurine edition.

Also, there's a regular-sized case (with a slipcover) inside that oversized box, so you're not "locked in" to that packaging.

Good deal. I'll get that if it's cheaper.

This was actually very good.

The voice for Terry Mcguinness is Nightwing.

Green Arrow looks like the hooded & bearded Ollie and gets alot of cool time.

Theyve continued the "silly" Flash.

Its an alternative universe close to Beyond but more colorful.

The action was top notch. But not as well choreographed as Batman vs Robin.

Man-Bat has the same design as BTAS.

The animation is more "classic" Justice League style and not the anime that the other DC films have used recently.

The voice acting was on point.

It plays like a two hour saturday morning cartoon moreso than something like Doom or War,, but the stakes are just as high when its come down to the threat.

The animal robots seem so 80's. But I'd be willing to get a Nightwing or Green Arrow figure.

8/10......Fun stuff. Nice palate cleanser amongst the current DCU Animated catalog.

When i was at Target this morning i didnt see a Collectable-Less Regular version. The box had the security disc wrapped around it.

Great - I assumed they would not put a slipcover in the figure box, otherwise I would've just ordered that one (since it was cheaper) and tossed the figure/outer box.

I say having a bunch of the DC Nation shorts on there is reason enough to get it. Granted they're not all the shorts I'd want on the disc, but it's a start.

It's a handful of DC super pets shorts and a couple of batman of Shanghai eps.

Nothing to write home about believe me. Plus the DC nation pets ones are all on you tube.

They're all on Youtube I think. But at the same time, as a collector of the DC Animation, I've been hoping they were going to put out a disc just collecting the DC Nation shorts. If they do it like this, it's a start.

I mean, even with them collecting Teen Titans Go, the original DC Nation shorts of that aren't even out on disc yet as an extra on those seasons sets. Which is very surprising.

I'll go pick this up today, and give the toy to my nephew (who spends a lot of time at my house). I wasn't interested in it, but all of a sudden, after the announcement of the next one, I'm drawn to it. If I don't particularly care for it, at least I'm sure my nephew will.
