Is this coming from Warner or aomeone else? Typically Warner will announce their releases, and there's also nothing about this one on their press site.

Wow, I haven't seen this for at least 15 years when I had it on Laserdisc. Will definitely pick this one up.

Could be either Warner Archive or Fox (who has been distributing some Regency titles outside of the US).

The former is a distinct possibility, as they did release the director's The Sunshine Boys.

It's not on the WBShop site either, wonder if it's fake, the DVDs had a lot of problems, have a lot of cleaning up if it's real

I hope this is true. My second favorite Whoopi film after The Color Purple.

I could see them using this being one of McConaghey's first big breaks (following Dazed and Confused) as a selling point. Plus it is the 20th anniversary of its release.

Not saying that they shouldn't release this, but seriously THIS over still unreleased certified masterpieces like McCabe & Mrs. Miller and The Big Sleep??

BTW, I think I found a video on how Warner decide what movies they should release and what movies Warner Archive Collection should release:

Looks like it's coming from Fox as the UPC associated with that ASIN is 024543216018.

What's interesting is that the following Regency titles are also being released on the same date. A few are new to Blu-ray but most have been previously released by WB. More interesting is that all are listed with a Fox UPC (prefix starts with 0-24543) and WB just released Empire Records a few months ago on 07 Apr 2015.

Fox.... that makes sense

Fox actually releases catalog titles, Warner can't even get a ton of classic Paramount titles out, much less their own library.

I am happy this is coming though, I love people who get butthurt when a catalog title they dislike gets announced, they act like they're being held at gunpoint to buy a movie against their will lol

Some of us LOVE this movie. I am happy to see it getting released, will definitely add it.

Anyone know what's going on with this release?

I was looking at my list to see what I'd be buying next month and saw this. When I checked on it, I couldn't find it on the Amazon search.

Came here and clicked on the $9.99 Best Buy link and it says it was released on 7/8. The came back and clicked on the Amazon link and it did take me to the item page that didn't come up when I did a search. It also claims it was released but says usually ships in 9-13 days. I can't imagine this going out of stock.

Not sure what to make of this.

Had a quick look at my pre-orders today and Boys on the Side is supposedly unavailable... I sure hope they don't cancel this on me like they did with Artificial Intelligence
