I'm in one of those, so there's a whole other reason to get this set

No, your math skills are correct ... it's mine that are lacking in this instance.

[Show spoiler]You kind of mentioned both scenes in one there. The theatrical ending has Tommy beating Michael with the pipe, but there's no reveal of it being Dr. Wynn. The Pcut ending is the ceremony ending with Michael killing Wynn and putting his mask on him.

After finally getting to properly watch the Pcut, I much prefer the theatrical over this cut because the ending is much better imo. There are some great added character scenes in the Pcut though. 6 is actually my favorite sequel of the franchise, and a hybrid of the 2 cuts makes it even better.

[Show spoiler]Maybe I just remembered it wrong or a hybrid version does exist somewhere.

Is the theatrical cut included on this release? Not that I care but some people seem to suggest both versions are on the disc. I thought it was just
the P cut and a digital copy? I have the P cut from the AWESOME box set and I think the picture quality is excellent!

If the Lionsgate release is even slightly better than Scream's I'll gladly double dip.

Aside from the theatrical and Producer's Cut, the only other cut I know of is an older TV version that incorporated some deleted scenes to pad out the running time, but otherwise was still the same as the theatrical cut. It originally premiered on UPN back in the late-90s, but I haven't seen that particular version in a long time now. When I see it on TV nowadays, it's just the regular theatrical version, edited for language and violence as usual.

I think he may be referring to a "fan edit" of both the theatrical and Producer's Cut.

Ah. I suppose it's possible there is one. I've never seen any fan edits myself, so I was only thinking of the official versions.

It was definitely a version I watched on UPN or when CW used to be called the WB Network back in the day.

Yes, definitely OOP. Shout Factory's site encourages fans to check elsewhere, which of course I did, and most online retailers are wiped out.
Even eBayers couldn't touch $86.99.
So I waited a year. So what.
I may keep my 35th Anniversary for the digibook. We'll see.
I'll keep II for Terror In The Aisles
I haven't seen III in 30 years, easy.
The rest I don't remember, think I rented the VHS tapes, pretty sure of that.

Thanks again, @rdodolak !

Note Amazon have more than 20 copies, since it doesn't warn of stock issues. So while it's OOP people have time to jump on this great $87 price. I wouldn't wait long.

I've seen that TV version of the film before. It was the first time I actually saw some of the deleted footage, so it caught my attention right away.

What's the significance of including the 2007 version of the '78 original in the 15 disc box, please ?

It has unique extras (Criterion commentary, feature length documentary, trivia track, probably more) and I suppose there's also the thought that some prefer that transfer (surely not me!)
