There are rumors about some of the Batman movies been released at the same time as TDK. However, there has been no confirmation.

I guess everyone forgot WB's official 2008 plans? I know I did lol

Quote:
Q2 2008: 'Dirty Harry: Ultimate Collection' (includes 'Dirty Harry,' 'Magnum Force,' 'The Enforcer,' 'Sudden Impact,' 'The Dead Pool' and bonus disc "Clint Eastwood: Out of the Shadows')

Q3 2008: 'Batman Anthology' (includes 'Batman,' 'Batman Returns,' 'Batman Forever,' 'Batman & Robin,' 'Batman Begins'), 'Batman Begins'

Q4 2008: 'Otis: Uncut'

2009: 'Gone with the Wind,' 'North By Northwest,' 'The Wizard of Oz,' 'Woodstock'

2008/2009 Theatrical Releases: '10,000 B.C.,' 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,' 'The Dark Knight,' 'Get Smart,' 'Speed Racer'' and 'Where the Wild Things Are.'
So it does seem likely we will get this collection in Dec with TDK.

I hope and pray they'll do a collection with Begins, Gotham Knight, and TDK. It only makes sense.

Yeah I only want Batman and Batman Returns I don't care for those Joel Schumacher films at all. and I think most people already own Batman Begins so they will need to do sep releases.

Forever was tolerable and probably fit Bob Kane's vision more closely than either of the Burton movies. But I agree if I ever see that other Schumacher one again it will be much too soon.

I was quite surprised watching Schumacher take some blame on why B&R turned out so badly on the extras for the Batman Anthology. Basically the studio wanted a toy friendly movie and he went along with it. In retrospect I think he would have made a much better fourth film if the studio had not rushed the fourth film into production.

Everyone forgets that Forever was more successful commercially than Burton's second film. Even that film had some serious flaws. A penguin army? The Peguin's origin? Max Shrek? Burton did not like the idea of the Peguin being a funny little business man so make him a mutant and then have an evil business man in the form of Max Shrek.

Also many hardcore Batman fans still did not like the fact that Burton's Batman killed his nemisis. Killing the Joker? Let's take the best villian in the rogue's gallery and kill him.

Even Nolan having Batman possibly let Ras Al Ghul die in the train does not sit well with some fans. It is a tradgedy that Ledger passed away because I would have liked to see the psychological relationship between Batman and Joker explored more in a future film which could have possibly been an adaptation of Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns.

Just sold my set in anticipation of the BD set. Time to sell your DVDs while they still have some value.

Good advice. Once I started to fall in love with Blu-Ray, I sold nine-tenths of my DVD collection--I kept the ones I watch frequently.
