Although I think their resent comment on Blu ray is garbage, I love my Sammy 120hz LCD. It is perfect for our family room which gets a lot of light.

I am gonna have to say Plasmas FTW! LCDs are ok but as for the 120hz, those aren't really as great as people say they are. Sure they make sports and video games look better but is it really needed? I think not unless you watch TONS of sports, which I dont so that would be my opinion. My current plasma displays games nicely, even with fast-paced scenes and what not.

I dont' see why people think that plasma's montiors suck when it comes to "reflection." We have been dealing with CRTs that have that problem. Most newer plasma's don't have that problem as bad as older models. C'mon...

i have a sony kdl46w3000 and i love to play video games and watch lots of movies, and my living room is mostly dark. Now my friend has a plasma
panasonic something model im not sure, and i take my ps3 to play cod4 and
i dont see any difference when i play cod 4 in my dark living with my
sony lcd and when i play cod on my friends plasma tv. so ill stick with my
lcd hd tv for the next 5 years, till then i love my lcd. by the way my cousins plasma doesent suffer from any glare.

Folks, I heard numerous reports from owners of all different brands of PLASMA that the tv will OVERHEAT. Please if you want a piece of mind after a long day at work, go settle with LCD tv. You will not lose.

The whole "my panasonic/pioneer plasma is the only worthy TV on earth and everything else sucks" mentality is really getting old. There are a lot of people who have seen both and are very happy with their LCD.

ANYONE WHO HASN'T SEEN THE IMAGE DEMO WHERE THEY TAKE A "UNNAMED POPULAR PLASMA SET" MOST LIKELY ONE OF PIONEER'S THAT'S SUPPOSE TO BE "KNOW FOR BREAKING NEW GROUND" AND PIT IT AGAINST SONY'S NEW XBR8 AND QUIT SIMPLY IT BLOWS THE PLASMA OUT OF THE F'N WATER WITH ITS BLACKS. I AM SURE IT WASN'T PIONEER'S TOP OF THE LINE PLASMA WITCH IS THE KURO 2G, BUT I AM SURE IT WAS THE PREVIOUS KURO AND IT MAKES IT LOOK LIKE CRAP!! FOR ANYONE WHO HASN'T SEEN IT CHECK IT OUT HERE!!!! ONCE YOU SEE THAT LCD TRY AND TELL ME ALL PLASMAS ARE BETTER THAN LCD'S, AND IF YOU STILL TRY TO I'LL HAVE TO STRAIT UP CALL U A LIAR

I call FUD until you can provide credible sources for that comment.

They do run hot compared to other types; but not enough to worry about them burning up, unless you're one of those knuckleheads that kills your TV by running it 24/7 to babysit your dog while you're at work and pass out at night with it still running.

No doubt some do. I've got three, and my 58" does have a tendancy to warm the room a bit when it's been on for hours and hours. I really won't mind too much once winter comes, as my basement gets a little chilly.

Overheat? Never heard of any plasma doing that.

To quote the master, who I'm sure will eventually chime-in on this joke of a comparison: "These shootouts are all ridiculous unless each television is set-up by the respective manufacturer."

It's as believable as this:

No point in asking, everyone is just going to say that you have to get whatever they got, and say everything else is garbage.

Thanks DobyBlu. I think I'll start saving now for my next HDTV. The Mitsubishi LaserVue looks awesome. What do you guess, $10,000 for the 65"? $20,000 for the 73"?
