Very nice but creating more than one thread on the same subject is unnecessary.

Is that receiver currently available for the US too or just for the UK?

I'm not sure if it's actually out yet but it will be US and Canada. I almost bought a 350 and the guy at the audio shop informed me this was just around the corner.

A fair heads up though, it's not cheap.

On that note, they did not say when the AVR600 was going to be available to both the Yanks and Canucks.
As for price, how about a guessing game?
I'd say $4000 easily!

Arcam has a sound all of it's own. In the audiophile world Arcam is considered to be high end equipment in the mid range price range.

Arcam are some the the most anal audiophiles I've encountered to date. Up until now they refused to add HDMI support for audio claiming it "tainted" the overall sound of its product.

Best way to answer your question is head down to your local Arcam dealer and see for yourself.

Bose and Arcam are nowhere near comparable. Please look into Arcam before making such a claim, it's laughable. Go listen an Arcam product and then try to say it's just overpriced crap.

I'm feeling the stereo bypass mode so that you can still use a 2ch only set up as well.

I actually spit Mt. Dew all over my desk. Thanks for that.

Just because I can't let that go unchallenged, exactly what are you basing that on? Bose makes cheap speakers that others sell for $50 and charges $500-1000 for them to people who don't know better. Arcam makes audiophile gear that others sell for $8,000 and sells it for $4,000 to people who know exactly what they're getting. Just because Bose is overpriced crap at $1,000 doesn't mean everyone else at that price range (or even MUCH higher) is overpriced crap.

I'm sorry but I can't help stop laughing at everyone's reaction.
Yeah I know, I'm such a noob with all this technical stuff while all of you are MacGyvers at this. A lot of you must've graduated from Adams College while I graduated from The School of Hard Knocks. I'll look more into the Arcam receiver to correct myself.
