1. Elemental Designs A7-900.

Listening results: This subwoofer has almost no weaknesses. It presents everything from the deepest pipe organ and movie bass spectaculars to a hard driving bass guitar with an effortless quality that is the best we have heard to date. On the WOTW machines emerge scene, there was nothing but waves of bass that one felt rolling through the room. The standard Steely Dan 2AN disc was tight, tuneful, and the 18 Hz bass present in this disc was easily felt, yet the upper bass regions were agile.

Throw in a couple of these monsters and you would have some serious house shaking!

Honestly, they shouldn't even be calling this a subwoofer..... its lower limit is speced at 34Hz(-10dB)!!!! That's friggin' terrible! This is a large woofer, not a subwoofer.

Default Want to hear what 5Hz sounds like?

Do you want to create thunderstorms, tornadoes, and earthquakes in your house?

Forget about Elemental Design, SVS, Hsu Research, Klipsch, Fathom, Gotham, Martin Logan, etc. You guys lose. This subwoofer from Eminent Technology TRW-17 Subwoofer eats all the subwoofers mentioned above for lunch.

"Conventional subwoofers roll off rapidly below 20Hz. With no cone the rotary woofer achieves high efficiency at very low frequencies. Most subwoofers have a difficult time producing acoustic output below 20Hz at audible levels. They generally require large amounts of equalization, distortion rises rapidly, and even the most expensive available cannot produce significant output below 10Hz.

On the other hand, the rotary woofer has enough acoustic output to move an open door back and forth .5” between 1 and 5Hz! It has enough output to find resonance frequencies of walls and ceilings in a room. It requires no equalization to achieve flat response to below 1Hz.

Note, the model 17 must be professionally installed in an attic or basement which becomes an infinite baffle. We have developed an amplifier and crossover solution unique to this product. See pricing for more information. If you wish to use your own electronics, the crossover/amplifier should be capable of operating near its rated power at between 1 and 3 Hz.
"

Specifications

Motor Controller: $350.00
