Curse of the black pearl locking out my PS3

This is the first BD problem I've had since buying my PS3.
First, during the entire run of previews I can't use pop up menu or Top menu. This part could be intentional. After the "Pirating is stealing" part it locks up and the display button shows it sitting on track 100, seemingly indefinately no matter how long I wait. Hitting play, pause, scan, etc. does nothing. Eventually hitting "next track" causes the menu to come up. Once I hit "play movie" it seems locked again, again hitting next track, fidgeting around, EVENTUALLY plays the movie. It took three tries and two PS3 reboots to get this far.

I have video via HDMI @1080p and sound via optical. Firmware is 1.81. Any thoughts? Anyone else had these issues?

Hmm, initial impulse is to say "Check the Disc for Scratchies".

Baring that, secondary impulse is to put the title in my PS3 connected similarly.

Which does play.

Chapter 100 is the main menu/loader screen, so that's not unusual.

Going to stick to initial impulse.

How long does the loading screen/track 100 stay for you? My screen is 100% black and it just sits there. Should I just be waiting longer?

I watched it without problems the week it was released...but that was firmware 1.80 I believe. I'll try tomorrow with the 1.81 update see if anything comes up. I'm using HDMI@1080p with optical for the sound as well so we are on the same page there.

Hmm, not very long. Not longer than a minute by far.

Did you get the 'Views expressed are not those of Disney' screen?

Pop-up and Top menu's are meant to be locked out during the ads but I can skip them without problems. Navigation and playback work flawlessly from the main menu for me.
