Default My 60GB PS3

Nothing wrong with it as far as functioning, but every time I insert a disc the disc drive motor suction won't suck the disc in all the way. Instead of the blu-ray inserting all the way in, it will partially suck in then turn a little bit. Then I have to give it another push to go all the way in. Yet it ejects fine. This just happened right now randomly, and I've never had this problem before. Any quick solutions? It IS really dusty... could that be the issue?

Wow, you guys should listen to this. My PS3 only does what was mentioned above to the Paramount blu-ray Ĉon Flux. For some reason, the disc size might be off by a bit or something. This is very strange and surprising. If anybody has a PS3 and Ĉon Flux on blu, you should go check this out or try it. I just tried a number of other discs and examined Ĉon Flux afterward and realized that it physically looks different, so that's probably why I had trouble inserting it.

SO HERE'S MY QUESTION:

Is this a defective copy of the blu-ray? Can any owner of Ĉon Flux go and check your disc to see if there is a rough, plastic edge along the entire outer edge of the BD? You can feel it just as much as it is visible. If not, I'll try an exchange tomorrow at BB.

I got a PS3 60 GB-model (Now 320 GB) and I have watched Aeon Flux and blu-ray on it ... no problem at all.

Maybe because it's a region 2 PS3.

Okay I think my disc might be defective. The edges are very rough for some reason. Let me just put it this way: putting my Ĉon Flux blu-ray next to another blu-ray is like comparing the edge of a quarter to the edge of a nickel. Unless any of yours are like that, I'm probably going to exchange it and try my luck again...

If it's physically and obviously rough edged, then it probably happened during the disk copying process - someone wasn't paying attention before they shipped it. You can always take it back - chances are it was a batch problem and not a regional issue, but I've seen it happen. When the first SOCOM came out on PS2, there was a small defect in the screen print on top of the disk that allowed light to pass through, causing it to hang at the same point in the game. Sony was aware of it and would replace it, but only if asked - they never did a general recall of the disk.

Come to think of it, it happened to me but not with a bluray disc, instead it was with a DVD. You could feel the suction mechanism working fine but the disc not going in, though a small push fixed the problem. It was because the DVD is less thick and therefore was not grabbed as well as a thicker Bluray. It's no big deal really.

Me too. The only problem I had was the movie was horrible and I turned it off half way through.
