Default Difference between Samsung BD-P 1500 and BD-P 2500

We got the Samsung BD-P 2500 at the store yesterday. Since I want to sell some of them I would like to know what it can do. Sadly on the samsung Homepage there is no information as of yet about the 2500. Only the 1500. The only thing I could gather from the package is that the 2500 has BD Live Support and 7.1 Analogue output. Can anyone tell me a bit more about the differences between the 1500 which I know pretty well and the 2500?

Thanks in advance

One of the things I don't see on that page is the fact that the 2550 has the Reon processor for SD DVD upscaling. If it's anywhere near as good as the implementation in the BD-P1200, that's a major selling point i.e. buyers can watch their legacy SD DVD's with really top-notch upscaling.

I have the 2550 and the 1500, and the 2550 does have the Reon processor, and the upscaling is very nice. This is their best player by far. I'd highly recommend it.

Thanks for the info. I guess the 2550 is the same as the 2500 as it's called in europe. The only thing I saw, is that it has a 7.1 analogue output. But who really needs that nowadays.. But that upscaling thing might help sales. Thanks for the infos guys..

I do wonder though why they too skipped an internal DTS HD MA Decoder..

They are exactly the same. Just get a receiver that decodes all the codecs and bitstream the 2500/2550 to the receiver.

Thanks. Sometimes the names of the machines slightly vary from country to country.

And I believe the 2500 has a fan, whereas the 1500 doesn't. Might add to the longevity (as much as can be expected from a Samsung though) to the 2500 over the 1500.

Looks to me like the "INSIGNIA" player by Best Buy, but I know it isn't. Just seems that Samsung is getting to be less, and less quality?

I got a 2500 Friday from amazon and hooked it up last night. Had some weird problems which I haven't looked into yet. First, I have it hooked up to my Onkyo 805 through HDMI. When I turn the player on (no disc inserted) and go to the menu it is extremely sluggish. I push the down button on the remote and it takes about 10 seconds to react. Also, I had an ethernet cable plugged in and it caused my internet to stop working and I had to reset my router. This happened every time I plugged the cable in. The picture was also a bit jittery. I am going to try and update the firmware tonight but if that doesn't work I'll probably get a Panasonic BD55.
