Default Stargate SG-1 DVD Movies Petition

This fall MGM will release 2 Direct-To-DVD Stargate SG-1 movies entitled "Stargate: The Ark of truth" and "Stargate: Continuum". I am eagerly awaiting seeing new adventures in picture perfect quality and 5.1 sound as opposed to the Sci-Fi channel but I'd love them on Blu-ray disc. Even if you aren't a Stargate fan you're here becase you love Blu-ray so help us sign this petition to get the films released on Blu-ray; even if in a limited quanity (50,000 or something) Just keeping adding your names and email to a post below this one then I will submit it in a month

BD or HD DVD. Either one would make me very happy.

Although 50,000 would be very ambitious. Only TWO titles have sold that many copies.
The Departed 100,500 (62,700(BD)+37,800(HD DVD))and
Casino Royale(83,600)

From data through 5/27.

The rest of teh titles are at or below 26,000.

They looked good in HD when I watched it on SHowtime HD in 2001-2002. The last year it was on Showtime HD.

Count me in. Maybe add in SG-1 Complete Series on BD too. And maybe a decent rerelease of the 2-disc set on BD too

It is different people making the Stargate series Blu-ray. Lionsgate made the theater movie. MGM and/or Fox handles the tv show. I didn't realize that was a high number. I'm fine with lower. But I would pay and I know others would.

Count me in, I'll buy both Stargate SG-1 movies and all 10 Season on Blu-ray once they're release. They said if both of these movies sell well, we'll see more SG-1 Movies.
Stargate Atlantis was announce back in 2006 to be release on Blu-ray but it's been over a year and still no Blu.

Count me in, for the SG-1 series, Atlantis series, the new movies, and the new series they are supposedly developing.

Add me.
Got All the DVD's & the first 4 or 5 seasons where not that good of a transfer & would replace those in a hot second with BD + same with season 2 of StarGate Atlantis is very soft compaired to the season 1 dvd set. Then at some point replace them all, unless they offered a boxset of all the seasons for a discount & I would get them all at once.

Only seasons 6 and up of the SG-1 were mastered in HD

I seriously doubt you'll see any of them in highdef. Atlantis yes.

Im a fan of stargate, but I think there is a limit to its shelf life.

It wouldn't be bad if they kept the same actors - but they don't and that just makes it worse.

Season 5 still looked good in HD on Showtime. It looked like other HD shows on the major networks that are converted to HD from film.
I remember at the time I was pissed that it was going to Sci-Fi and wouldn't be in HD. Although I guess I'm more pissed that Sci-Fi didn't renew them for season 7.
And I hope those movies are available in HD. I swore I would never buy another SD DVD a few years ago and I broke that promise with the Babylon 5 movie coming out on DVD. I don't want to break it again with the Stargate-SG1 movies.

What do you mean? Out of the 4 main stars of SG-1 only 1 left (He retired, you can't blame the show for RDA retiring), but RDA is going to star in one of the upcoming moives, so the orginial gang is back together.

Or are you talking about Stargate (The Moive) vs. Stargate SG-1?

You mean Season 11. They just finish season 10 on Sci-fi.

There is already talk about making more SG-1 moives, If the first two sell well, MGM hopes to make and release about two SG-1 movies per year.

I would love to see this in Blue. I have all seasons in DVD and will rebuy in Blu-Ray if/when they come out.
