Default PS3 Standard Def special features stretched.

I'm sorry if this question has been answered before and I missed it, but I tried 6 searches and couldn't find anything. When I play SD extras from BDs on my PS3, the picture is stretched and I have to set the TV's aspect ratio to 4:3. Does anyone know what I could do to rectify this situation, or if I can at all?

P.S. My PS3 is hooked up to my Samsung TV by a HDMI to DVI converter (if that affects anything)

Well i am not familiar with this happening. make sure the PS3 is using the right resolution. Make sure the TV is using the right aspect ratio. A lot of the Blu-ray extras in SD will look bad cause they don't upsample them. It could be the TV doesn't understand the change from HD to SD...

Could it be the DVI converter ? I have my PS3 with a direct HDMI connection to my TV and not such issue

Check your upscaling settings on the PS3- make sure that it reads "Normal" and not "Full". Full stretches the picture.

Update: I have since gotten a new TV (Samsung LN32A330, I think) and no longer have the issue. This new TV has HDMI ports. I think the converter was the issue.
