PS3 Problem with BD Special Features - Blu-ray Forum

I have this weird problem with my PS3 when I play a special feature on a blu-ray disc. I click on it and before it plays, "INPUT 4" comes on my screen (which is what my PS3 is plugged into, and that comes up when nothing is plugged in). This only happens for a few seconds, then the special feature plays.

It isn't a huge problem, but it's annoying and I seem to miss the first second or two of each special feature.

Does anybody know what causes this, and if it can be fixed? It seems to be something with the PS3, because this doesn't happen when I use the same TV port for my HD-A3.

Is the special feature playing in 480p? If so, the TV might take a second to swtich from one setting to the other.

The special features are in 480p, so that makes sense.

Whenever I get around to watching a special feature in HD i'll post here on whether or not the problem continues.

yeah, my TV and HD cale box take 2 or 3 seconds to change the signal to HD with the PS3 and going from SD tv to the HD channels. It's normal.

I get the same problem on my Plasma. I suspect this is a common problem.
This is one of the reasons I wish the PS3 would upscale all blu-ray SD content to 1080p, as it does with DVDs.

I had a problem similar to this with my samsung 720p tv. All I know is I set my ps3 video resolution output to 720p only, haven't had a problem since. I know my samsung can't display some resolution, 480p I think. Hope that helps.

My LCD can display all the resolution and no problem at all.
But upscaling function of BD contents will really welcome.
The JOB made on standard DVD is so good so I hope Sony can made the same with BR soon.
