Best Buy got my money for the 3D version. I was at work when I got an email from Best Buy saying "come back and get $10 off your next purchase" with a link for a coupon. I printed the coupon and just stopped by on my way home and I was out of the store with the movie for $9.99 out of pocket. Couldn't be happier.

Damn, with a $10 coupon I would've gotten the Steelbook; takes a bad price and turns it into a great one.

I don't collect steels and I didn't see any in my store anyway.

I received an email from VUDU awhile back about redeeming or purchasing movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe like Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, etc. and if you bought a certain amount, I think it said I needed 4 more and you'll get $5 in VUDU credits. I messed up and redeemed Iron Man 3 through DMR first instead of VUDU, so I redeemed Ant-Man on VUDU first and then on DMR to get points. Unfortunately that offer been expired but I did it just in case they bring it back.

Don't you know that redeeming the DMR portion will also provide the DMA (only if it comes from blu-ray combo pack that specifically states "Digital HD"?) You can link your VUDU account to DMA, and redeeming DMR that has DMA will also port the movie to your VUDU account. By redeeming Ant-Man on VUDU first and then on DMR to get the points (like you stated) is essentially wasting an extra portion. If you are concerned about getting DMR points, just redeem DMR portion which will also provide you with the DMA portion that ports over to VUDU (you can even link to iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, and Microsoft). You could have sold/traded/given away the extra Digital Copy Plus portion instead of double redeeming. Just my 2 cents.

I saw that offer as well. I didn't, because I figured it wasn't worth it to spend $20 on a digital copy of Ant-Man I'd be getting with the 3D Blu-Ray package anyway and $5 on the UV of Incredible Hulk (which I didn't have then, but do now) just to get $5 credit for VUDU. I believe the offer expired in October. Kind of ill-timed, since you'd only be pre-ordering Ant-Man.

Of the pre-Disney distributed MCU releases, only Iron Man 1 (2008) and 2 (2010) had two disc BD releases. The others [The Incredible Hulk (2008), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), and Thor (2011)] only had a single disc BD release. So it's hard to blame Disney for no bonus features discs (excluding retailer Exclusives discs) on the Disney distributed releases since The Avengers in 2012.

Iron Man 2 was the only MCU film to have both a single disc BD and a 3 disc BD/DVD/DC combo released on the same day. It's possible the single disc release sold more, as the single disc edition of Iron Man 1 was released in 2011 by Paramount, and the two disc release of Iron Iron 1 went out of print in NA.

I'm not sure what people who complain about lack of bonus features want. I know most of these "Behind the scenes" things are fluff, quickly pointing out what's CG, what's not, how they pulled this off, we're not going to get the nitty-gritty about a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie for a long time, especially not exactly why Edgar Wright left Ant-Man. While I know people appreciate the indepth stuff we got on Iron Man and Iron Man 2, I found that a little exhausting when I tried to watch it all recently.

I picked up my copy earlier right after Best Buy opened, and I used my $5 certificate so I ended up paying only $16.29

Also, on the way home I stopped at a pawn shop to browse the BDs, and I ended up picking up Avengers 3D with a great condition lenticular slipcover for $14

I really wish I could've just bought the slipcover for Avengers 3D, as I already have a copy without a slip (on top of that I have the BD/DVD version w/ slip, plus the DVD/BD version ), but I guess I can always trade/sell my spare copies. The upside is that now I'm only missing the following Marvel Cinematic Universe films in 3D:

Captain America: The First Avenger Limited Edition 3D (technically I just need the slip for this one, as I have the case/discs)
Thor Limited Edition 3D (w/ slip)
Iron Man 3 3D Combo Pack (w/ slip)

Other than those I only need the Iron Man Ultimate 2-Disc BD and the Iron Man 2 BD/DVD/DC combo (with slipcovers obviously ), then my Marvel Cinematic Universe (films) Blu-Ray collection will be complete

EDIT - Oh and I just bought season one of Agent Carter on VUDU (in HDX) for $1.08 (I used $14 in VUDU Credits) So I now own (or have access to) all the Marvel Cinematic Universe films/TV shows. The only things I don't own in some format are Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. seasons 1-2, Daredevil, and Jessica Jones, but they're all on Netflix)

2nd EDIT - I'm seriously considering re-watching everything before I watch Ant-Man

I bought the Blu (single disc) today and added it to my collection. It shows as added on the collection page but not in the title search. In the title search it is not in bold letters.

Is this the case for anyone else?

Also search keeps saying I have Aladdin in my collection, when I in fact do not have it in.

This has never happened to me before. Is this explainable?

Yeah all my accounts are linked. Only reason I redeemed through VUDU first instead of DMR first is because the offer was only valid for VUDU redemptions or purchases and redeeming through DMR voids the deal. I found the old email and realize the deal has been dead for awhile now. If that deal ever comes back again, since MCU movies are never ending, I'll probably just unlink, redeem on VUDU, then link accounts again. Since I usually just redeem on DMR for these movies. But yeah maybe I should start thinking about selling, trading, gifting these Disney digital copies. Thanks for the idea.

I usually delete the emails before I read them because more times then not it is just an add for something. This one however I decided to read. Got lucky. Makes me wonder if other people are like me and just delete emails before they read them because most of the time it's just junk.

Really wanted to get the 3D set tonight, went to Walmart and only 1 copy left and beat all to hell. Looked like someone threw it on the floor and stomped on it repeatedly. The price was $26.96 anyway. Said screw it I'll just order it when I get home on Walmart.com since it was only $19.96 when I seen it on their site last night, only to see that it's now $29.96. Go to bestbuy.com because I seen some people on another site saying they lowered it to $19.99, sold out! WTF is up with this release?
