Default Yamaha rxv 663 eq

Currently i have my yamaha set to natrual but there is a a user eq where you can adjust the settings for each speaker to your liking. i was going to set these by ear but i realized i didn't know what the numbers are. the settings go like this. i know they are the frequencies for your hi's mids and lows but which is for which ?

63hz
160hz
400hz
1khz
2.5khz
6.3khz
16 khz

i don't know if this is the answer you're looking for but the if you know what a typical equalizer looks like, the 63hz would be the control all the way on the left end and the 16khz would be on the far right. it's just like the equalizer on itunes.

I would leave the equalizer settings alone unless you can use an SPL meter not your ears to properly adjust each frequency band. Personally, I think YPAO can do a far better job than our ears can. If you have an SPL meter you might be able to tweak the settings to make it sound better or to your liking.

Also one more important thing to do, if YPAO set your speakers to large, set them to small and use a 60Hz to 80Hz crossover setting before you try adjusting the settings with an equalizer. Otherwise try doing that and experiment with all three settings: natural, flat, and front.

Just curious, what kind of speakers do you have connected to your V663?

^^
The parametric EQ is mainly for frequency correction and/or timbre matching your speakers. Definitely stick with the YPAO which will adjust the PEQ automatically during calibration.
