Default Watching movies on PS3

Hello, I am new here, and one thing is bugging me.

When I'm watching blu ray movies on my 24'' monitor (1920x1200 Samsung 245b) I can't shake off the feeling that movies are stretched ever so slightly. Could this be because my monitor is stretching them to fit 1200 resolution, as opposed to 1080? Can this be changed somehow?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Looked through the online manual. Basically your monitor can't do a 1:1 pixel mapping so you're out of luck. What it's supposed to do is take the 1920x1080 video via DVI and apply that WITHOUT stretching it to 1920x1200. But that 1:1 pixel mapping feature is not there.

If it's not too late, get a HP. It has 1:1.

Thats too bad. Have you given any thought about buying an HDTV? I can't stand watching movies on my pc. Well, its your decision and your computer so I can't push you.
