i have a hard time believing its a big deal at all tho. the way its worded it makes it sound like they already casted cap and that he's in it, but that's obviously not true

Confirmed where? To me, the white part that looks like part of the star is where an object is sitting which has a triangular base, white top and black midsection (best seen at 1:25:25 frame 9 or 10) one or two frames after the screenshot posted in this thread. I paused it on my 65" screen and walked up to it, I can clearly see where the top V of the "star" is attached to the bottom section making a base. I can also clearly see the black midsection and white top, no doubt it is an object sitting on something. It appears to be sitting on one of Stark's touch control holographic panels he was using to design the suit. Also, look very closely at that still frame and you will see that the supposed shield is NOT round, it is oblong, and CA's shield is round.

Nice try, but I don't buy it. Maybe you're TV is a little fuzzy

1 = glimps of white top under Tony's arm
2 = obvious gap between rightmost "point" on the star and the top of the "shield"
3 = obvious joint where top of base meets bottom of base (or really screwed up star, heh)
4 = black body of object sitting on base

Allan

Well, if we are talking about the original comic book history, back when Captain America joined the Avengers in issue #4 in 1964 (after being revived from the iceberg), it was shortly after that that Tony Stark modified the shield that Captain America had been carrying since the 1940s with electronics to make it return to him magnetically. So the shield was not created by Tony Stark; it had always been Cap's. (And Cap got rid of the electronics because he felt that it was upsetting the balance of the shield when throwing it.)

In actual fact, Cap has a more triangular shield in the very first issue but then it was replaced by the circular one.

a simple google search would have saved you a lot of time

In a recent update, numerous websites caught up with Marvel's Kevin Feige as part of an early promotion for The Incredible Hulk. Not only did he speak on all of Marvel's upcoming films, but he confirmed some details regarding Captain America and The Avengers. First things first, he did confirm Cap's shield was in Iron Man

Personally, I do not care if the producer, director, special effects manager, and editor all walked up to me personally and said that, either that is NOT CA's shield, or it is the worst excuse for CGI I have ever seen in a modern movie.

what exactly do you think it is if its not captain america's shield? you can't get much more clear cut than having somebody from marvel confirming so.

and its clearly not a finished shield at that..so i'm confused by you.

Hey Flea. If you go back and watch the trailers, you will see that the Captain's shield wasn't in any of them, in that exact same scene. I just confirmed this myself. It was thrown in before the movie's final release. Later.

why do you not want to believe its the captain America shield? you say if the director himself told you that it is you will not believe. how can you not believe when the director put it there on purpose.

While we're on the subject of Iron Man don't-blinks, assume everyone already recognized that both the Caesar's Palace Las Vegas music and Col. Rhodes cellphone ringtone were both playing the 60's cartoon theme?
