So is a distributor not a studio, ditributors own rights to distribute and sell Blu-Ray releases, there' a big confusion here at Blu-Ray.com defining these terms, a major studio couldn't be "rebranded" by his distributor, from country to country imo, these are the obvious cases, indendent releases are more subjective.

We can't do forum rules without following civil laws and in terms of management, a distributor company that doens't own the rights of one specific movie can't be mentioned now for that, we watch Blu-Ray's until the final credits without a single mention to the distributor in that specific country, we see studios logo in the end, another reason this is an american site, for example does an american user know the Universal Studios distributor is China?, i guess no, and theres' such a huge difference seaching Blu-Ray's from Universal Studios in China and other countries with distributors indications, and the distributors that few users know, and the major studios that everybody knows, so try and click and see for yourself seach all the Universal Studios Blu-Ray's in China and will not find one, and we all know Jaws, Back from the Future are from Universal, for Amazon foreign Blu-Ray's editions that they sell are always major studios, i think this is absurd, i'm against this rule in the terms that are being followed. My suggestion for rules are only indicate distributor with contributions to the movie release and some independent release that we see final credits mention to that in that specific country, otherwise always major studios in all countries and all contributions will be much more simple to the database and for searches.
No they don't get changed if or when a distributor goes bankrupt or gets sold. Existing releases retain the old distributor because that is who distributed those specific releases. Any new releases would reflect the new distributor.

True.

And the rules on the studio help are also very explicit, when editing or adding any release, in any part of the world.

"The Blu-ray distributor shall be listed as the releasing studio, not the original production studio. For example, a Disney title released by Mill Creek Home Entertainment shall be listed under Mill Creek Home Entertainment. Titles released under a parent subsidiary will be listed under the parent. For example, Scream Factory titles shall be listed under Shout! Factory and Sony Pictures Classics shall be listed under Sony Pictures."

Yep, those are the rules.

Personally, I'd also like to see a sub-label field added as an option too. For example, this way the Studio field would list Sony Pictures and the sub-label would have Sony Picture Classics.

There are times I would like to search or view current releases by a particular sub-label such as Sony Pictures Classics (or Tri-star, Columbia, Screen Gems) and there is no good way to do that based on the currently available options.

I also sometimes wish this was an option. that way you can look up the Disney sub-labels.

This entry has the incorrect image uploaded for it
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/21-Ju...lu-ray/105552/

It should be this image (that's also been uploaded as the 'slip cover' image)
but there's no option to remove the incorrect one and replace it with this one.

this entry for One Piece - Season 6 Voyage 4 is a DVD release and not a blu ray one. funimation hasnt started releasing any of the series on blu ray yet, just some of the movies thus far. can this entry get changed to a dvd listing or just removed from the blu ray database?

The duplicate entry thing is really rampant.

I also had a cover art thread that I would bump when uploading and I just did it for the first time in a year or so. This time it didn't help!

Yeah, I know...I started it.

I just want to make sure the part about contributing policies doesn't get lost.

I too wish some things went smoother, I see these blu-rays which I can assume aren't real (at least in this country)

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Mulan-Blu-ray/152507/

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Pocah...lu-ray/152451/

also I will report a Duplicate here, and maybe on the main page, it's one of mine I did accidentally when adding movies to this site, and I submitted twice, sorry

The Intruders (1962) and this is the one to delete https://www.blu-ray.com/The-Intruder/509119/

I'm in full support of people being added to the team to make this site a great place. let's make this site great

Those are real actually, they're this month's featured title on Disney Movie Club, maybe they're DMC exclusives because I haven't seen it anywhere but there. However, there are two separate entries for both of the movies.

this is locked so I can't fix it myself, but it says it's season 2-6, whoever did it must have thought it meant season # of season # ( season 2 of 6) and not that it shows up being multiple seasons like with movie boxsets or complete series TV sets.

I'm now in charge of approving database entries, so I will be doing my best to approve or reject them as quickly as possible.

I just want to say that this may seem like a relatively easy problem. However, it's a very extensive and tedious process. We have hundreds of submissions and every time we approve one entry, it seems as if ten more quickly replace it.

Please be patient folks.

Will there ever be any documentation published that users can refer to in order to prevent more work? A simple list of policies/guidelines for making submissions would be a great help (on both sides!) by hopefully reducing the number of denials for simple things like Comments.

Part of the problem is that we have to approve and deny entries upon receiving them. So if a title was added, for example, four months ago, we have to sort through all of the recently submitted information in order to get to it. I'm in the process of asking for a way around it.

Regarding policies or guidelines, I'd say keep submitting as you see fit and we'll get to it eventually. I'd greatly appreciate it if you folks could provide links in the comments section so that our confirmation is much simpler. For example, the biggest problem right now (at least for me) is trying to confirm aspect ratios, subtitles, bit rates, audio tracks, etc. on films released in foreign countries.

I still wish for a cover explanation. I uploaded new covers for Seven Psychopaths that were rejected. Sometimes I think larger wins out over clearer.

I also honestly wish the site would just implement a flat art only policy.

I don't understand cover art on this site, it's hit or miss. I uploaded the exact same image from a duplicate listing (w/ art) to the original listing (w/ no art) and it was rejected. It was already approved in another location on the site?! Oh well, I guess the proper listing just won't have a cover even though the duplicate does.
