I can't imagine wanting to upgrade much except for maybe "Lawrence of Arabia" "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "The Dark Knight."

1. The Dark Knight Trilogy
2. Dawn of the Dead (1978) 3. Night of the Living Dead (1968) 4. Twilight Zone Complete Series 5. Batman The Animated Series 6. Batman (1989) 7. Basic Instinct 8. Universal Monsters Collection 9. The Third Man 10. Citizen Kane 11. Sorcerer 12. Stanley Kubrick Collection 13. James Bond Collection 14. True Detective Season One 15. Watchmen I'd say about half (if not more) of that list has almost no chanc of getting released. I'll try to focus on purchasing 4KBD's for brand new releases, BVS being the first. What sucks is having to also buy the 3D version and whichever retailer exclusive that features bonus material which I'm a sucker for regarding that particular film. Suicide Squad will be the same. The only other catalog 4KBD in the pipeline that's been announced that I want is Man of Steel. |

Anything that is a noticeable upgrade in quality.
There were lots of bad blu-rays, so if any of those get 4K remasters and UHD disc, I would probably prefer the UHD disc just because it's the best possible option. As far as blu-rays that were already "good" or even "great", I guess it's wait and see. Certainly for uber classics or big format films like 2001 or Lawrence of Arabia I will probably want the best possible quality - so will lean to upgrading without hesitation (well, with hesitation since I'm a deal shopper... but once the price drops I will upgrade). If it is a lesser classic, then I guess it depends on how much better the UHD disc is. |

My top 100. Movie quality is the most important. Cannot buy a movie just because it looks and sounds good. Will pick up some during Black Friday.

I have upgraded only four so far: Goodfellas & Unforgiven (because they also included the remastered blu-rays, so those were future-proofing purchases), Bridge on the River Kwai (mainly because it was cheap), and most recently the Predator trilogy.
I plan on getting the upcoming releases of 2001 and Big Lebowski. Any future upgrades will be dependent on the visual quality of the film and how much I love the film, so there are no automatic upgrades except for maybe the Indiana Jones and Bond movies. |
