I like it too but only without the blue banner. I'll double dip though, don't love the BB one but I would still like to have it.

Definitely a crapshoot with Amazon.it with that damn A1 mailer. I'm done ordering from Amazon.fr because of their crappy packaging. However, the last order I had with Amazon.it, they still used the A1 mailer but the steels were sealed in individual bubble wrapped envelopes. No damage to the steels, did have a paint chip/scratch but can't really put that on the packaging.

I think I'm going to chance it and at the very least pre-order. Could always cancel if I'm not sold on the final artwork or just change my mind.

Always received my steelbooks in a very well protected packaging.
Maybe it can arrive damaged because of the "negligence" of the carriers (if you're not in Italy, obviously the packaging's journey is longer) but I can assure you that the packaging it's the same.

You are located in Italy and we are based in the States so yes, the packaging's journey is much longer but placing the blame on the negligence of the carriers is simply incorrect. Yes, damage can occur and can be blamed on the carriers but only when appropriate packaging is used. However, a flat cardboard envelope with no cushion or bubble wrap on the inside is not my definition of "very well protected packaging."

I did state in my post that Amazon.it did take better steps towards improving their shipping style but it can still be far better. Amazon.de has far superior packaging so that is the measure of standard and until they can match or exceed it, they will continue to fall very short.

Always received my steelbooks orders with a full cover of bubble wrap, I don't know what to tell you if you received yours without that. Did you try to ask support to the Custom Care?
And A1 Packaging is the obvious choice to ship just one steelbook. I don't know why complain about this, even when I order something on Zavvi or foreign Amazon I received that packaging and I always had no problems.
The only matter I had in my entire "collector's career" was an order placed on Amazon US, but the customer care was excellent so I don't consider that a problem at all.
I guess I'm very lucky.

Yes, very lucky is what I would consider you. Again, you are entitled to your opinion but please don't state ridiculous comments as facts. There is really no point in discussing this further if you believe that an A1 cardboard envelope is the "obvious choice to ship just one steelbook." If that were the case, then why does BluFans, Kimchi, Novamedia, HDzeta, etc. all ship one steelbook bubblewrapped inside of a box? Amazon.de doesn't use A1 mailers either so if it were so obvious, then, I guess all those retailers have it all wrong. I wouldn't mail a steelbook inside of an A1 mailer to my neighbor across the street, let alone, overseas. So, why complain? As I know the process very well of how packages are handled and shipped and an A1 mailer is NEVER the "obvious choice".

I wish your luck continues with your A1 mailers but our opinions will always be different. Let's end this discussion and again, agree to disagree. Back on topic in 3, 2, 1....

True. But it's worth noting that ONLY the theatrical cut will be presented in 3D if you buy any of the other releases. Personally, I will only ever want to watch the Ultimate Edition so I'm happy to forgo the 3D and get this version. I've bought a couple of steelbooks from Amazon Italy in the past and they were all undamaged, so this is the best option for me. It's a better match for the Man of Steel steelbook than the Best Buy release.

I'd order this, but unfortunately not going to take the chance with international shipping.

I might risk ordering this. I'm 2 for 2 on pristine steels from Italy despite their shoddy shipping mailer. This is miles better than Best Buy's and matches Walmart's MoS a lot better.

Edit: I pre-ordered it. I'll keep my Best Buy preorder in place as well. If the Italy one shows up unscathed, I'll keep that one and return the Best Buy one. We'll see how this goes...
