pioneer kuro plasmas...best black levels, realistic color palette, no motion blur, incredibly sharp picture
panasonic also makes a mean plasma but its not quite as striking (close though)

haha... Pioneer Kuros for sure the best if you have the money... if not, Panasonic 85,800, and 850 series! Worst would have to be LG Plasmas, ICK

(LCD owner ) KURO no doubt about it, beautiful image

my buddy has an lg plasma, and i wouldn't tell him, but it is painful to watch.
also samsung lcd's BEFORE calibration, how they can look so unnatural right out of the box is unbelievable to me.

I voted with my money, as I recently ordered a Pioneer 5020, and hope to receive it soon! Once I do and get it all setup, I'll start a thread with some pictures and my opinions of it.

I wouldn't want an LG or Philips plasma either. Panasonic or Pioneer is really the only way to go

Read the professional reviews. It takes all opinion out of the equation. Plasma FTW. Pioneer Kuro or Pany Viera 800U/850U series.

i had a weird dream last night, wal-mart let me trade in my Samsung 6 for a Pioneer Kuro that had an aspect ratio of 2.4:1.

I felt like such a loser when i woke up for having that dream, but i guess i gotta say Kuro.

I just wish they were more organized. Reviews are posted early and late...some are revised. The testing standards don't seem to be uniform. Often times they are vague and compare models which shouldn't be compared.

One issue is that they have a list of the best HDTV's and then they have separate "Best" lists for each display technology. The problem is that those lists are often outdated. Let's say you look at the "Best" plasma list. There may be two or three that have been reviewed in the last few/several months that were rated higher than those on the "Best" list...but they won't even list them. Instead, they will list a few which are ranked lower but are much older.
