Does it suck as much as the first one? The first one is hands down the most generic piece of crap I've ever watched. I'm was so furious when I left the theater.

If you're of the opinion that generic horror movies like The Conjuring, Sinister and Insidious are good, then you haven't watched a real horror movie.

I actually like Sinister and Insidious more than The Conjuring. Excited for this one, though.

The trailer makes it look like it's pretty good.

In my opinion a good horror movie makes me tense. (I hate using the word scare, because it doesn't, really) I argued with a member about this a few months ago trying to categorize what a good horror movie was.

The Conjuring is a good horror movie, I loved it. Sinister wasn't certainly great but it was damn effective and for that reason I liked it. Insidious wasn't very good, I didn't really enjoyed that one but wouldn't say it was bad.

What's a "real" horror movie for you?
Something from the early 80s like Evil Dead?
While Evil Dead is good for what it is and when it was shot it certainly doesn't scare anyone. I re-watched it a few years back and couldn't stop laughing, is that what an horror movie is meant to do?

I really enjoyed The Conjuring and Annabelle, between enjoying those two movies and seeing the positive buzz about Conjuring 2 I'll be seeing it this weekend

Yep. That's the whole point.

But actually, the jump-scares in The Conjuring were pretty damned effective, if you want to be 100% honest about it. It was a scary movie on a lot of levels. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with sitting there alone at night, in the dark, watching a movie and suddenly jumping back in your couch, going, "OH $&#^%!!!!"

I've watched everything from Häxan to Rosemary's Baby to The Exorcist to The Shining to Scream to stuff like The Conjuring. I've been watching horror for decades.

If you think I haven't watched horror, then you need help.
