Amazon has Scream Factory Collectors editions as their deal of the week and so the ad's are reflecting the great prices on so many of the titles. Many of them are out of stock as as there are several of us that swooped in on the sale and purchased multiple titles. The deal runs all week though so there will be more in stock eventually.

I noticed that myself. There are a few there that I want to pick up, especially for that cheap. The good thing about Amazon is that they still allow you to order even when the title is out of stock.

I would dearly love to jump on this... but..

I just upgraded from dvd to blu, The Frighteners and Van Helsing. (I also have Howard the friggin' Duck on blu-ray. Don't judge me, man.)
Independence Day.
Top Gun steel.
Deadpool steel.
Got Arrow's Invasion of the Body Snatchers steel on the way from across the pond.
And Zapped! is dropping on my birthday.

I've spent way too much already. And it's just May. June is a whole 'nother can worms.

Shit, when I upgraded from DVD to Blu, I figured that I would just keep my DVDs and start buying Blu-rays. Boy was I naive. It wasn't long (probably two or three days) before I had to have everything on Blu. However, now, after a few years, I have a rather nice collection amassed, and now I basically only buy new releases. But yes, you've spent too much, and chances are you will spend a helluva lot more. That was how it worked for me.

I was going to jump on the box set, but I may just get everything separately and call it a day. Especially after reading this on Facebook today.

Always been a fan of the original and Psycho 2. I watched Psycho 3 years ago, but didn't care for it that much.

I started watching BATES MOTEL on A&E and I must confess, that show is one of the most enjoyable shows I've ever watched. The story of Norman & Norma is BRILLIANTLY written and the actors are AMAZING in their roles, it's PERFECTLY cast.

So, I found a DVD with Psycho 2, 3 & 4 on it and today, I FINALLY watched the 4th one.

I haven't hated a film this much in years. I endured till the end and then threw the disk away.

So for me, part 3 & 4 never existed, I refuse to acknowledge them in the legacy.

A&E's story of how Norman becomes a serial killer is MUCH more realistic and compelling to watch.

I too find Psycho IV pretty much unwatchable (and that goes for anything directed by Mick Garris), but while the film is certainly flawed I find much to like about Psycho III. I like the Hitchcock homage of meshing themes from Vertigo with those of Psycho and an early score by the great Carter Burwell is fantastic.

Agreed on Bates Motel. Against all odds it has turned out to be a television masterpiece.

Still, I'm tempted to jump on this psycho IV release just to see the extras mentioned above.

I don't think anyone has ever looked at Psycho IV and seen dollar signs.

I think I'll buy it just to have them all. It's a problem I have.

That's what I was going to do. The last time I saw it was when it was first on cable, and then I don't remember much about it. If I don't like it, then it will just set on the shelf with the rest of them. In the end, just because you have it doesn't mean you have to watch it.

I occasionally feel like that, but I draw the line at TV movies like this one. I also don't need The Omen IV, they are a different medium and for me not really part of the feature film series.

Dark Delicacies will be doing an in-store signing with Mick Garris on 8/23. The pre-order price is $28.00 plus shipping.

I noticed the Australian release of the Psycho Collection has all the extras from Psycho 2 and 3 ported from SF release. However, their Psycho 4 disc is bare bones. I wonder if Australia will get a re-release of Psycho 4 with extras once SF releases its version in August.

I seriously doubt that, especially as it was released individually as well. Can't see them making money releasing the same transfer with just a few extras... not for part IV.

Nice avatar! Wise Blood. When is that coming on Bluray?

I just got the Australian set in the mail last weekend. I haven't cracked it open yet, but I'll probably get the IV bluray from scream and throw it in the case once that gets released. I'm probably going to have to swap out the original too. There's no extras on that disc, but the US version has that documentary created for the original DVD release. What a time to be a horror fan these days. There's even a rumbling of Exorcist III coming out in it's original form.

If you are talking about the original Psycho not having any features in the Aust set then put the disc in the player. The disc for the original Psycho has all the special features that the US disc has plus a bonus episode of Alfred Hitchcock presents. I don't know why MadMan didn't list the features for the original Psycho.

I'll have to put it in and see. It's weird that they didn't list it on the box.

Looking forward to seeing what extras will be on this release. I really hope they include a commentary, something Psycho 1 release lacks. Maybe SF will obtain the rights for the original Psycho at some point and release a CE with commentaries.

That would be nice but I don't think Universal is gonna license out any of their Hitchcock titles. Maybe just maybe to Criterion but I don't think anyone else. Psycho just really needs a new transfer.
