Are TF1 releases region free?

I'm thinking of picking up Match Point but want to make sure it's region-free.

So they've only had 1 release and it's been region locked?

I'm curious about Match Point and also their upcoming release of The Aviator.

Actually they have quite a few releases and as far as I am concerned TF1 produced the best Blu-ray disc/package there is currently on the market: La mome. You would have to research on a title per title basis when it comes to region-coding.

I know that their 1st release was La Mome on blu and was region free

but this is the only one this far

others already released : "Les femmes de l'ombre" or "Survivre avec les loups" for example are both region B

and btw, all TF1 releases are now steelbook case, so will be "the aviator"

What's the purpose in region-coding older releases? I just don't get it.

I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens.

often smaller studios are releasing stuff on behalf of bigger studio's in some areas so they they region lock them so the bigger/other studio does'nt miss out on sales.
