Angry No releases for July 10?

I was looking at the "movies" section of this website but there is nothing listed for July 10. So, there will be no Blu-ray releases next week?

While I don't like the idea of no new Blu-Ray's coming out for a week, it will give me a chance to spend my money on something else next week, like food lol.

No, but seriously out of five exclusive studios not one planned anything for the week of July 10? I guess the BDA doesn't really care about winning the war.

To be honest, I am pretty sure that Blu will win the format war, but taking a week off and not releasing anything at all, is not the way speed up the conclusion of this war.

I haven't looked, but is HD-DVD releasing anything next week? or is this just going to be an off week for everyone?

Don't worry I am not going to buy an HD-DVD, I just wondered about the release dates.

highdefdigest has Blue Planet coming out next week along with an HD-DVD release. Not sure if this actually got moved ahead or not.

since alot of BD players have sold in the past few weeks, you'll continue to see movies like Casino Royale around the top 10 with the lack of movies lately...

we can take a few weeks off and still have stronger content than HD DVD..

1 week is nothing in this format war. Pirates 3, Spiderman 3, the missing Warner releases we're waiting for, and renewed activity from Fox will swing things a long way in the direction of Blu-ray later this year.

When is the renewal of their (Fox + MGM) activity going to happen? Anytime soon?? I am waiting for it. The format war would look way better if they joined the ranks ...

There's nothing to worry about - it would be a major surprise if F4 Silver Surfer and Die Hard 4 weren't day and date Blu-ray and DVD releases. Assuming that happens, the top 20 grossing movies of 2007 so far looks like:

1 Spider-Man 3 Sony $333m
2 Shrek the Third P/DW $314m
3 Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End BV $296m
4 300 WB $210m
5 Wild Hogs BV $166m
6 Knocked Up Uni. $123m
7 Blades of Glory P/DW $117m
8 Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer Fox $116m
9 Ghost Rider Sony $115m
10 Ocean's Thirteen WB $102m
11 Meet the Robinsons BV $96m
12 Norbit P/DW $95m
13 Bridge to Terabithia BV $82m
14 Disturbia P/DW $78m
15 Evan Almighty Uni. $62m
16 Stomp the Yard SGem $61m
17 Ratatouille BV $54m
18 TMNT WB $54m
19 Surf's Up Sony $54m
20 Live Free or Die Hard Fox $52m

BD exclusives : 333+296+166+116+115+96+82+61+54+54+52 = $1425m
HD-DVD exclusives : 123+62 = $185m

BD exclusives have grossed 7.7 times as much as the HD-DVD exclusives!

It's considered sporting to give the losing side (HD DVD) a fighting chance. With 0 Blu-ray releases, perhaps they might actually win a week?

Nah, they still haven't got a hope in hell!

Nope... they're grasping at straws at this point... HD DUD is at the point in the movie Titanic where the gentleman yells "Iceberg, dead ahead!"

When nothing new is out that's when you look for some older titles you missed

I was looking at the "movies" section of that other website but there is nothing listed for July 17. So, there will be no HD DVD releases week after next week?
