PS3 Region Hack? - Blu-ray Forum

I have a 40G PS3 (USA) and would like to have it play my Region 2 DVDS.

Is there a way to do that?

do you think they will bring out one of the discs they had for the PS2 that you put it in first then selected your region then put in your movie.

Well most of my foreign dvds are region 0 already, but I have two (The Baker starring Damian Lewis, and Angel-A which I believe is Region 2).

What about playing DVD's in a linux based operating system? Would that be a feasible work around, I'm not too familiar with linux.

you can rip/recopy them to dvd and remove region coding.

Already I did that, but the norm PAL is not recognized by the PS3 (USA)
