Default Casino Royale without DTS

Hi

There is something I don't understand and I wandering if anyone can shed some light.

MGM have released all 20 movies on DVD with Dolby Digital and DTS. The release pack is the James Bond - 007 Ultimate Collection. They have released Casino Royale only in Dolby Digital and no DTS to be seen.

MGM have also released a few of the older movies on Blu-Ray and these also have DTS-HD MA. However Casino Royale Blu-Ray releases only have PCM (first release) and Dolby TrueHD (second release). Still there is no DTS-HD MA.

Has any have any ideas why they are releasing Casino Royale without DTS or DTS-HD MA. I am pretty sure Casino Royale featured DTS at the cinemas when it was showing.

Thanks
Tarlo

Sony is the studio handling the Blu-ray release of Casino Royale and they don't typically use DTS-HD MA. The other Bond movies are all being handled by Fox who only uses DTS-HD MA on their Blu-rays.

Clark got it. It's studio differences.

And before anybody starts getting their [bleeps] in a bunch, remember that the difference is all in the mix, not in the codec. Don't blame the codec!!!

Day Watch and Night Watch are both handled by Fox, and both have a TrueHD soundtrack on them

Not the U.S. ones at least. They are handling it and they both use DTS-HD MA
