Question for Amazon Credit Card holders - Blu-ray Forum

I just got the Amazon.com Credit Card and was wondering if you get any special discounts or rewards besides the reward points.

I thought that you get like a $5 dollar off at checkout or 5% or something similar. Is there anything like that or perhaps anything else that I'm not aware of?

You get points for every dollar you spend once you have enough you will get a Amazon gift card in the mail.

I believe months ago they had a code that gave a small discount on dvds and cds if you paid with the Amazon card. I don't believe that code is still active.

It used to be 3 points/$ on the Amazon site and 1 point/$ elsewhere. I recall them recently changing the non-Amazon vendor points allocation to 2 per $ for some purchases, such as "gas", "groceries" and "stationary" though.

Did they badger any of you guys to buy their payment protection insurance. When I called them to activate my card they badgered me for a full 30 minutes to buy their card insurance. Eventually I had to resort to yelling expletives before they would activated the card.

they just did some promotion and i'm getting 5 points for every dollar spent on gas till the end of december.

I love my amazon card, helped me get 75 bucks off my TV from them and it was already $500 dollars lower than anywhere else
