Default Anyone else got the Amazon credit card?

They've been offering it forever with the free $30 in merchandise to start and the points system which give you Amazon gift cards.

Now it went up to $40 so I bit the bullet and signed up.

I spend so much money on Amazon since the retail around here is horrible for blu's. I figure I should at least get enough in gift cards a year to cover Amazon Primes cost.

So who's got it? How do you like it?

No complaints. Decided to get a card a few years back (the $30 credit was applied towards a digital camera) and I still use it occasionally, and stricly for any orders placed through them (to maximize point earnings). I don't order much through Amazon, which is why I've earned only one $25 gift certificate to date (though the second is only a few dollars away).

If you place a significant number of orders through them, as a card that offers rewards, it is worth serious consideration (like any reward-based credit card, it's only beneficial if you can pay off the balance every month, which I do). I have a self-imposed limit on the number of credit cards I have under my name, in the interest of protecting my credit score, as well as personal tracking.

I've got the card and only use it for Amazon purchases. I used it to buy all my TVs and got some nice Amazon gift certificates due to the 3% you get back for Amazon purchases.

We've had it since 2005. My wife and I do tons of shopping through Amazon. We are also Prime members. We just got $75 in gift cards today (Over $500 in 2009). We usually put all large purchases on it and always pay it off immediately. We just like the points.

I got mine a year ago as my first CC and love it... pay bills on it and all my AMZ purchases and I get lots of certificates... the first 3 months with double points was the best!!

I've had one for a couple of years now. As with others, I only use it for my Amazon purchases and pay it off immediately since the APR ain't that great. You get triple points on Amazon purchases.

2,500 points = $25 reward check
2,500 points/3 (triple rewards on Amazon purchases) = $833.33
$25 reward check/$833.33 spent = 3% discount

So if you redeem points for cash it ends up saving you 3% on all Amazon purchases.

Got mine last year when they were offering $50 to sign up.

I use it for pretty much everything and once I get to 2,500 points I redeem the points for the $25 Amazon gift certificate. My Blu-ray collection would be much smaller if it was not for the Amazon credit card.
