Default How is this HDTV? Samsung 56" Series 6 DLP HDTV

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Samsu...+Mod#prodspecs

It's 1,200 bucks and it seems to be a 120hz 1080p television.

How much would one of these go for?
I don't care about changing bulbs since it's fairly easy.

I have the exact same tv myself. I believe it is a great deal for size and picture.
You could say plasma has better at this or lcd is better at that.
When it comes down to it you would have a 56inch 1080p tv for a good price with 3 hdmi inputs.
Makes my PS3 look AWESOME.
So while yes you may be able to find some stronger points on other types of tvs im glad i made the choice i did.

I do not believe it is a 120hz only 60hz.

Take a look at the 60 inch Mitsubishi DLP on sale as well. Those look amazing.

Here is an LED DLP

On a side note i know some people go crazy when you talk extended warranty. I purchased one for mine for like 200 bucks. A blub for that tv will cost at least that. I cant see how you cant get one.

I looked a 4 year extended warranty is 379.99 sounds crazy i know. But do the math. 380/48=7.91dollars a month. Thats dinner at burgerking for one person. I can pass up some bk for 4 years of trouble free tv viewing.

Here is the price of a blub from samsung
http://www.samsungparts.com/part_det...el=HL56A650C1F
its only 150 so u make the call.

I have a similar Samsung model except mine has the led bulb and the 120hz. I love it. It's the best looking hdtv I have ever owned. I did have to have them swap it out like three times before I got one that didn't have any picture bowing, and every once in a while the casing will make a settling type pop sound.

I don't think your Samsung HLT5676S has 120HZ

It doesn't, with normal viewing it is 60hz, the 120 is only used for 3d video.

tau31:

I'd shy away from this deal. The set IS NOT an LED-illuminated DLP. It uses the older projector-lamp technology. This type has several disadvantages:

-- power-hungry lamp (it will raise your power bill)
-- expensive lamp replacements
-- increased air-conditioning bills due to heat from that projector lamp
-- raimbow effect to some viewers from color-wheel

One more on the "Con" side: I bought the newer Samsung 56" LED DLP set (HLT-5687S) from Circuit City last June for the same price. Sounds as if your local store trying to sucker you.

Hold out for a good deal on an LED DLP. Preferrably at somewhere other than that particular Circuit City. This is a tough time for retailers. You should be able to make such a deal on a NEW set at any of them.
