Having sold most of my DVD's I am left with about 80 films which I cannot see ever being released on Blu Ray.
Typically, there are going to be some titles which distributors just feel the market will not cover the costs of production with sales, and some films are so low quality even the Blu Ray treatment will not make them good. (You can't polish a turd!!) So heres a list of films I love, but think will never grace Blu Ray: Killer Klowns from Outer Space Wilderness (UK Horror) Beyond Re-Animator Prom Night 2 Phantasm 2 Prince of Darkness Desperate Hours Actually, too many Anyone else got titles they love but fear they will never see them on Blu Ray? |

Some View-Askew related films, like Drawing Flies, A Better Place and Vulgar. Some of the films you list actually have a fanbase, so I wouldn't write them off quite so soon. The format is young, and to be honest many of us never thought those titles would make it to DVD either!

I actually have The Crow as a Blu from the UK. It's one of the early releases though and the pq is nothing to write home about....
Watched Vampire Hunter D - Bloodlust last night. Considering it's reputation i hope it comes out on Blu, though i have my doubts. However i have been pleasantly surprised a few times already, so here's to hoping ![]() |

I'd say something like:
- Last Life in the Universe - Don't Tempt Me - Some criterion movies (I can't imagine they'll get to all the old DVDs while keeping up with the newer releases as well, which is a shame) - Lady Vengeance (part of the trilogy with Oldboy - Tartan is gone, so that whole situation needs to be cleared up before we'll see another US version of it) - Naked Lunch - Il Postino (The Postman) - Save the green Planet! Most others I can think of are lesser known titles from the major studios, which means they'll likely come out (stuff like The Salton Sea, from WB -- I want it, but I'm pretty sure it'll come out sooner or later). Smaller distributors are likely going to be where most of the never-hit-BR titles come from. |

has anyone heard anything bout 'forrest gump'?
the big outdoor war, football and jogging across country scenes would make a gorgeous blu, imo. |

I'm amused that a number of these titles are already on blu-ray, and how some of you honestly think that very popular titles like Mallrats won't make it.
I think the original point of this thread was to discuss titles we don't think will EVER be released on the format, not those that might just take a while. |
