No, not straight away buying a new one just to have this option. But, when replacing or buying a new player/display anyway, I would certainly include it in my considerations in relation to the price-difference (with/without shutter-glass option) and to the market-share of 3D-movies available. Just my $0.02.

I voted no, but only because I am not willing to spend that much more money on something when i just got one last year and is perfectly fine. I can not afford another HDTV for a little while, and i KNOW that my HDTV can not handle 3D the way they put it.
HOWEVER, when I am in the market again for an HDTV, I will make sure that A) It supports the latest technologies for things like 3D and the like, B) It is using the newer, better technologies (whichever becomes easier to access, like OLED), C) It is bigger, with better contrast than my current model, D) Either my PS3/PS4 would have to support 3D by then, or I would buy a new Blu-ray player.

Most likely I will be in the market for a new TV after the PS4 is out. The PS3 is so great, but 3D is so far away from main stream, and so few titles support it right now, that I would not buy any 3D technology until it can reach a more main stream status. I am only afraid there may be another format war for the presentation of 3D material when that time comes.

I voted both because by the time good 3D becomes available for home use, it'll be way after 2010 and it'll be time for an upgrade anyway.

I'm not interested enough to buy a new TV for it but if it works well and doesn't give me a headache like some of the recent attempts, I might be willing to buy a new player for it.

uh, yea. What he said. It would really depend on the price of the player or TV and the # of 3D movies available.

I consider it a gimmick to get people out of their home theaters and back into cinemas. Just like the whole anamorphic lens thing did the same thing getting people out from watching TV back in the 50's. I have no interest in 3D whatsoever.

Honestly I am happy with standard 2d viewing.
I did recently buy the polar express 3d movie and I like the 3d effect but I don't think having the tv and blu ray player show the same affects without the glasses will be that big of a hit.

I say 2012, but then it will be too late because the world will end when the Mayan calendar ends that year. Of course Roland Emmerich is already capitalizing on this with his forthcoming movie titled (what else?) 2012.
